I've heard about a type of cuddly toy for a puppy where there's a pretend heartbeat. Whatnis the name of it? And where can I get it?
Thanks in advance,
Brid.

Or just a warm hot water bottle wrapped with a towel - can you get the mothers scent on a towel?

Hey that's great; lots of people swear by Snuggle Puppies! :) It would be wonderful to see them in Ireland now.

I only wish i'd known about them when my babies were puppies...
It must be hard for puppys to be taken away from their mummy's - especially when we get to see our mums all throughout our teens and onwards..

I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrve the puppy dog bed with the Mummy dog that you've got there, Fuzzie :flwr:
Maxx had to make do with a piece of vet bed impregnated with his Mummy's smell :D

Neither of mine cared for the snuggle puppy..big surprise there!! I tried a warming disc (from petedge.com) wrapped in a blanket and the old fashioned alarm clock ticking. Well....Jake attacked the alarm clock and broke it. I ended up sending my snuggle puppy to Linda...glad someone will enjoy it!!

King had a Snuggle Puppy when he was little...He still likes to lay wit it in his crate during the day..w/o the heatpack and heartbeat....

There's another product made by Petstages called the "Puppy Cuddle Pal" it doesnt have a heartbeat but u microwave the toy and keeps warm for bout 20-30 mins http://www.petstages.com/default2.asp King has a couple of the Petstages toys (not the cuddle pal)

I know that feeling only too well! I recently did a few weeks work outside the home and my hubby immediately asked me how much of my wages was going to be spent on new dog treats and toys etc!
Actually, I am being very restrained - they are just going to have new collars, harnesses and leads - oh yeah and Maxx will need a B.day pressie as he's 7 next month :rah:

that's really cute!
on the way home from when i first got zack, i stopped at a Humane Society store to get a leash and some Innova, recommended by the woman i got him from. At the store, they suggested a microwavable rice filled bag, it was about the same size as Zack and it definitely seemed to comfort him.
if i had seen one of those snuggle puppies, i surely would've gotten one for him. I was hemmorhaging money for the first few months i got him, just buying him anything that came to mind, my normal shop-a-holism was in full intensity, i had a great time. I have saved all my receipts from zack in a bag, thinking i might add them up some day, just out of curiosity. It was fun. I still love buying things for him but finally got over the initial rush and have some better self control. it's no longer a daily thing. :)
