Update on Emmy

We barley made it to the vet the a.m.
Emmy could not breathe, she was throwing up and totally limp
$1000 later she has had the endoscopy which revealed nothing
She has a slightly enflamed stomach in places and slightly enflamed airways which have been biopsied
In answer to some of your questions - yes Emmy eats grass like her stomach is upset....she throws the grass up.....she also eats her dinner extremely quickly......
My daughter in law says to give her tums... and I will try feeding her small meals several times a day
The vet wants to reserve changing her diet until the tests come back - she is off the medication now except for a light sedative which by the way she has not thrown up since I gave it to her - she is really calm and we have actually been able to play
I am wondering about a natural diet of chicken and rice ( I give her chicken and rice dry food mixed with a small amount of the same canned food)
Again thanks for your help. I have spent all I can possibly spend at the moment with no results so I am open to any and all alternative suggestions to make our girl better

Oh Judy...so sorry for all of your worries. I have no advice...just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you...and feeling very frustrated too!

I'm so sorry both you and she are going through this.

I'd be inclined to try a different protein source than chicken. See Maxwell&Me's thread in this section on her own dog's difficulties with most foods until she tried a venison dry food. Common protein sources like chicken and beef are more likely to cause stomach problems.

Do you have a vet school nearby that might have a stomach specialist?

I'd also recommend talking to Monica Segal who is a nutritionist with a special interest ibn cavaliers:

Thanks again to everyone
I have emailed Monica and will look for the Natural Balance Venison while waiting on Emmy's test results
I bought today Inouva?? Its like I want to hurry to try anything and everything to make her better.
The sedatives have helped but I don't want to have her dependent on them forever
I also gave her a tums - a fruit flavored one
The three of them are all on top of each other asleep at my feet - they are wonderful
Thanks so much for trying to help.....it gives me hope I may find an answer not - a natural one....
I will look into cooking them food.. although they are not fond of veggies but maybe I did not give it a true test
this has been fun talking about one of my most favorite subjects: Emmy, Molly and Gus
Thanks for listening
Judy
