I just received this poem from a fellow rescuer and wanted to share it with everyone here who's helped support rescues in any way...scanning petfinders to repost cavs needing homes, fostering, transporting, going to auctions, writing letters to help prohibit puppy mills, spreading the word, donating money, blankets, towels, rehoming, encouraging others to consider a rescue, or offering a little prayer.

Until you have held a tiny puppy in your arms as it kissed your face with slobbery puppy breath and felt the love,
Until you have held a severely ill or injured dog in your arms and felt their pain,
And until you have looked into the eyes of a tired, aging senior dog and felt their wisdom,
You will never understand the life of a rescuer.
We find beauty in the most incomprehensible places and the otherwise homely faces.
It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within.
We are rescue.

Thank you, the words ring so true. :flwr: From somewhere we find ever growing love for them all. All so special and all held within our hearts. :lotsaluv:

Couldn't agree more and now I'm in tears thinking of some of the terrified little scraps that have come over our doorstep over the years and then gone on to become happy, healthy, confident little furbabies - that's the best bit of all :flwr:
