If weather is OK we will meet as usual at 11:30 for a walk, the first of the new year. Hope to see some of the new additions to the Irish cavalier gang!

Great! I should be there - I wasn't able to make it the last time.

Unfortunately Honey won't be able to go as she can't walk very far but Molly & Bella will have a ball meeting other cavaliers :p

Just bumping this up... anyone else planning to come along?

5th January 2007, 12:38 AM
Now here is a map of where to go:

click here for map (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=53.353343,-6.314907&spn=0.018161,0.038066&t=h&om=1)

I notice that you will need to move the slider at the left to enlarge the image a bit to get all the right street names to show up.

1) come in the Parkgate Street entrance (bottom right corner) and head up Chesterfield Ave (main road thru the park)
2) at the roundabout, go left on Wellington Road (roundabout just past the monument, which will be on your LEFT)
3) at the crossroads at the bottom of the hill, turn right on to Kyber Rd. NB: The only sign there will indicate it is not a through road
4) park in the parking area there. If it is full I am sure you can just park on the right hand side of the grass verge there
5) usually we just wait around in that grassy bowl in front of where the cars park til we have a group gathered. :)

I have to go to Cork but Kelvin will bring Brandy along. He needs to be socialised with other dogs.

5th January 2007, 12:09 PM
Great, looking forward to meeting all the new doglets! Now let's hope for some dry weather...

5th January 2007, 02:35 PM

5th January 2007, 09:13 PM
oh poo :( :cry*ing:

We have friends staying sat. night and I'm not sure I'll be able to get rid of them in time to get up to the park. I suspect not as we'd have to be leaving here before 11. And I was DYING to show Dougal off. :( I ordered a sling n go and everything (although it hasn't arrived yet)

We won't make the next one either because it's my brother-in-law's wedding in Austria and we'll be away for 5 nights. (Karlin... I might need the name of that kennel from you.)

Hopefully it'll be really stormy and lash rain. :xfngr: :xfngr:

Wish we had a walk near me. Have a lovely time and I hope the weather improves. :flwr:

Cecily I can PM you the number if you need it; just let me know. Have two to suggest.

Weather right now is predicted dry in the morning with rain coming in the afternoon.

Jaspar and Leo went swimming in the creek today; water is quite deep (enough to swim) at one of the gates.

Oh no we have to see Dougal before he grows up!

Sorry Claire I forgot to take my camera today but I couldn't resist taking this photo of Molly & Bella post walk!

Hope you're feeling better :flwr:

Jaspar entertained the girls and the handsome Brandy by whining and barking the whole time. They maintained a dignified silence as all my three had rounds of barking, and while Jaspar and Leo ran around like madmen and jumped into the creek for a swim.

I will be offering my three to the highest bidder or sending them to reform school. 8)

so jealous all!

I am always trying to get Cavalier owners I meet to take a gander at Cavaliertalk and such, but my efforts have been futile! Are people just more friendly in other areas!

Just seems like all the Columbus-Ohioians are always looking at me like "you are a crazy lady" when I tell them about the site or am excited to meet another person in Columbus with a Cavalier!

Okay.... now I know I am not crazy or wierd... just what is the secret to all of ya'll sucess!

7th January 2007, 04:59 PM
Karlin if you could pm me the names or numbers of those places it would be great! Dougal is at the cutest stage! Maybe the next walk could be a week earlier or later ;) ;) ;)

Sounds like it was great fun. Would have been fantastic for Tandie to burn off this new found destructo energy. She's decided EVERYTHING is now edible / there to be destroyed.

no rain Cecily! b*n*n*

Brandy's been asleep since I got him into the car. He just about managed to wake up long enough to make it onto the settee. I took one photo of him meeting Molly, Bella and Leo on my phone

I'm delighted how well he behaved. He'd already had a good bark at a couple of dogs before he met all the cavs

7th January 2007, 06:47 PM
Brandy was an absolute angel on the walk, and Karlin, your three can get away with the barking cause they're such cuties ;)

Looking forward to meeting Tandie and baby Dougal on the next walk!

We didn't actually take any -- think that is the only one, from the phone!
