Hello- I am new to the board and looking for any advice regarding my cavaliers health issue, hoping maybe someone else has experienced it. I have two cavaliers, my latest addition is 9 months old and rescued from a mill. Over the past few months he has developed these patches of missing hair, mostly circular in shape. He is not completely bald in those areas but the hair is noticably short and you can see the his skin. Even the hair on his feet looks like it has been chopped off in certain spots. We have been to the vet several times and he his been tested for ringworm and demodectic mange and both tests came back negative. He has some mild itching, mostly to his belly, but nothing extreme, no more than my 3 year old itches. Does anyone have any ideas? I am thinking of asking the vet to refer me to a canine dermotologist to get to the bottom of it! Any thoughts?

Hi and welcome to the board. :)

I'd definitely be inclined at this point to see a dermatologist. Sounds like your vet has checked for all the obvious things and it's time to see if someone with a speciality in the area might have any ideas. A specialist associated with a vet college is always a good bet, if there is one near you.
