Sardines with bones?

I give the dogs a fish dinner once a week. I was wondering is it OK to give sardines with bones? I have been using the fillets so far as I was afraid to give them bones.

If it is tinned sardines then my guess is that they are quite safe because sardine & tinned salmon bones are quite chalky & soft. Usually you can crush them between your fingers. Would be a nice natural source of calcium me thinks.
