Not a cavalier story, but..

Donna, who helps run Hope Rescue, took in a 10 year-old peke, renamed Peke Abu, as his owner, with whom he's always lived, was going abroad for 6 months, so she posted photos of his sad little face, asking how to cheer him up and for offers of homes.

After a few days, he came round , making friends with donna's other dogs and eventually came to barking for attention. However, he only had one person interested in him.

Yesterday morning, he was taken to the vets, with a few other dogs, and while they were waiting, an elderly couple came in with their rescued peke. Abu toddled over, transformed, happy faced and tail wagging, and started to interact with the other dog.

While in the consulting room, he actually tried to get back out again and the vet commented on how different he was. He also said what good owners the other peke had.

When Donna's gang went back to the waiting room, the couple expressed and interest in Abu and are now going to take him to live with their peke, who is younger, and a 15 year-old yorkie, subject to a homecheck, over which there are no worries.

How nice that Peke Abu chose his own new mum, dad and brother.

A sweet sweet story. Their certainly is a special human for each pup that needs them....hopefully paths cross when they need too like it did for this special pup.
