Hello!

As many of you know my Tri girl Princess has had a poorly eye for sometime now, first of all it was a very nasty ulcer, and when that didn't heal quickly she was referred to the opthalmic specialist in the practice who diagnosed she had Dry Eye? When we got that under control further complications in the form of Glaucoma were diagnosed :yikes: I have for the last couple of weeks been trying to come to terms with the fact that she may well lose her eye totally, she most likely has lost most of her vision in it for sure!

Well we went back today for another pressure test and general consult and it was fantastic news!! The drops are working really well right now, the pressure in her good eye was 20, and in her poorly eye 24!!:rah: (When this was first diagnosed it was 56!) :yikes: Ian (Vet) is delighted! We have to continue with the drops and we may still get to a time when they will no longer control the glaucoma any more, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it. For now her eye will always have a "blued" appearance but she has been discharged and we go back in 6 months time for another check up unless things change dramatically in the meantime!!

So there you go folks!! Now we just have to get through the pups vaccinations this evening, any-one want to stand in for me on that?

Oh Cathryn, that is fantastic news -- I am so happy for you and especially for Princess! That can be such a painful condition and it is wonderful it can be so simply managed for now, with no loss of her eye. :rah: Definitely worth a celebration. :)
