Does anyone have knowledge of a Dr. Nancy Morris, Cardiologist, from Maryland? She will be at Clinic near Minneapolis and I am thinking about taking Freckles and Annie for screening. Her credentials look very good.

If you're a past member of the board, but can't recall your password any more, you don't need to set up a new account (unless you wish to). I've never heard of her, but I'm curious for information too, me living in Maryland and all I might need her. Do you know what part of Maryland she's from?

I just saw Anthony Tobias, and I do believe hes from that area.....he loves cavaliers and is very wonderful with them. ( Hogan licked his face and couldnt stop giving him love...he was very soft and really has a wonderful manner about him)
* Hogans breeder wanted to make sure that she was breeding heart good pups so thats why we had him tested*

( Oh by the way, he was at a AKC show, and was testing cavaliers thru the badgerland club- the test cost $35.00 and he spent over 25 minutes with us talking about cavaliers....really- just a super guy)

Ok-have to admit I saw MA and thought wrong. Here is what clinic site wrote:
Dr Nancy Morris received her Batchelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology in 1985 where she graduated Magna Cum laude. The American Society of Clinical Pathologists certified her as a Medical Technologist (MT). She received her DVM degree in 1990 from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine. She served as a research technician for Frank Pipers, DVM, PHD in a project to validate echocardiography in dogs as a means to determine left ventricular volumes and ejection fraction using modified Simpson's approximation technique. Dr. Morris spent the next year at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital interning in small animal medicine and surgery. The next 7 years were spent in private practice. In 1997, Dr. Morris returned to Angell for a 2 year residency in cardiopulmonary medicine and she is a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), specialist in cardiology. Recently Dr. Morris was the Medical Director and President of the Cape Animal Referral and Emergency Center LLC in South Dennis, MA. She is a partner in the CARE hospital and provided the creative vision for practice and business development, and managed the start -up of this multi-door, specialty hospital.

Would agree with Karlin on this, the breed clubs only ask highly respected cardiologists to test at their shows and usually at a reduced rate too, so if you have the opportunity to have your dog ausculated by them then grab it with both hands.
Here in the UK the parent club only ever uses Dr.Simon Swift, the theory being we get consistant results as there is only one interpritation. You can have your dogs heart ausculated for free at the parent club champ show held each March.

Sorry, don't know anything about Dr Nancy Morris, she has never been at any of the clinics around here that I know of.
Literally every show around here that I have been to that has had the cardiology clinic has had Dr. Tobias from the U of Minnesota. We have been seeing him since we started in breeding and like Maxwell and Me said, he is top notch. He absolutely loves the dogs.
