OMIGOSH my puppy man is sooooo wonderful!!! He laid down in his crate on the way home and didn't make a peep. One of my old Cornish Rex cats became his new best friend within two minutes flat...maybe less! Four of my five cats have already befriended him; the fifth is hiding but he'll warm up too, he's the gentlest of the bunch and my little scaredy cat.

What everyone said about Cavaliers being clingy is TRUE...I thought I was going to have to attach his leash to my pants to keep him in sight but it turns out he can't stand it if I'm out of his sight. He's lying in a little cat bed I bought for him, right by my feet, enjoying a Merrick flossie. He's already found many of the cat toys and has moved them next to his new puppy toys on the floor pad I bought for the living room for him.

Pictures soon but I wanted to let y'all know that he's home, he's happy, and I am head over heels in love!

I apologize, he has me too "busy" to post individual pics here but here is a link to his little welcome home album (http://picasaweb.google.com/Debby.Bradford/BarkleyComesHome)!!! I took four times as many, but most came out blurry because he is so wiggly!!! :luv:

Hi Debby! He's gorgeous. You're so lucky that your cat(s) have befriended him. My little cav loves the cats but they look at her like she's absolutely CRAZY if she thinks they're going to be friends.

They don't fight, though. They just give her dirty looks.

May I brag that I have the world's most perfect pup? I've had him for 24 hours and he hasn't done a single naughy thing yet! I am so glad his breeder insisted on keeping him until he was 12 weeks. He has not had an accident in the house yet, and he pees and poos pretty quickly outside. He so much wants to be right with me that he walks right with me, OFF lead, in my fenced yard. I don't want to walk him on the sidewalk yet because he doesn't have all his shots yet, but the yard is big enough for puppy walking practice.

He slept pretty good through the night in his crate next to my bed, he whined for about a minute when we went to sleep, and woke up two other times in the night and whined about a minute both times...I softly told him I loved him and go back to sleep and he did. This morning I got up early so that he could do his business and his crate was clean and dry. Good boy!!!

He hasn't chewed anything that isn't a dog toy or chew, and he only barks when a loud noise startles him...that would be twice so far. He just wants to be where I am; right now he's happily gnawing a Merrick Flossie by my feet.

I'm so happy that I took a few days off to be with him. He is bonding with me nicely. It's quite the mutual admiration society that we have going here!

Barkley's perfect!! I can't wait to hear more about the aventures of this little guy :) Congratulations!

Wow, the pictures are so great....Barkley is soooooo cute!! I think puppies of this breed are perfect. Rudy is very similar, except he has had a few accidents. He goes everytime we take him out, which is about once per hour, but sometimes it's just not enough! Rudy does sleep for 8 hours at night and holds it.

Also, on Saturday I found a Natural Pet Store and bought Rudy a Merrick Flossie. He LOVES it! I'm glad to see that Barkley has one too!

Your new baby is beautiful....enjoy him!

Oh, thank you!!! He went to my vet this morning for a get-to-know-you visit as he is current on shots and weaning. The vet pronounced him as perfect and beautiful and he said it's obvious that he has been well cared for from birth. He forbid me from letting Barkley near any other dogs until the next visit, in two weeks. Not a problem (and now I'm seeing why the fenced yard is so good, no other doggies can come up to him.)

We also stopped by the doggy daycare near work, Camp Canine, to find out about registering him for a one-day-a-week visit after he's fully inocculated. There is a 5-year-old Blenheim who comes in there daily, named Snoop, and they said another baby Cav comes in once a week...I'll try to find out what day so that they can play together.

Then, we dropped into The Doggy Store which is a local fancy dog stuff emporium where we bought more Flossies and some other chewies.

Of course everyone at the vet, the daycare, and The Doggy Store made a big fuss over him, some people simply taking him right out of my arms to give him a hug and a smooch!!! He is LOVING it!

I'm back to work tomorrow. :( But coming home mid-day to feed and walk and LOVE him up! :)

Barkley must be getting on your nerves by now. You know that as soon as he really drives you totally nuts you can just drop him off at my house! (Yeah, right! In my dreams)

Honestly, he is so cute. I love the pictures in his cap! He looks all ready for the park.

Julie, ha ha, nice try! :-p

He just gets cuter by the minute!! I was looking at the pictures I took of him on Friday and I could swear he is bigger today! I look forward to his playing with the Z-team, but the vet said he can't meet any other doggies until he has his final shots in a few weeks. It will be so much fun!
