View Full Version : Probably a long shot but I thought I would ask?

Just an ideal but I was just wondering if it could be possible to have a word or better PDF doc we could download with business cards template with the details on the site that we could print, cut out and keep to hand out to people that we meet with other cavaliers.

I lost count of the amount of time I stop and talk to other Cavalier owners out on walks over the park and because I have to tell them SiânE blind (they wonder why she takes no notice of their dogs) and then I have to explain why she became blind they start telling me problem their dogs have or talk about health problems in the breed. Or just don’t have a clue at all!

I know some doggie health sites have posters you can download and printout for the vets but It would be handy to have some business style cards (much easier to carry) we could handout to people because I tell them of this site but I know they will have forgotten about it by the time they get home.

Just a thought but is it workable?

Good Idea!! I too am frequently recommending this site to fellow Cavalier pets!! Over to you Karlin????

Thanks for the idea! I was going to do some cards for the same reason. I don't know if a general file would work -- maybe they vary depending on the printing programme etc. If someone designs a card I am happy to put up the file or a set of files for downloading.

All you would need is to house the doc on your web space and provide a link and when someone clicks on it (if my memory is working) would open up in their programme for them to download and print.

A PDF is better because most people would have the latest version of it and it harder to change the details on it. I could do a basic mock up but I’m hoping that someone on here has better or later programs to produce it. All we would need to know is the info that you would like on it and we could see what everyone could come up with?

So everybody get your working caps on!

I think that's a fantastic idea! I carry my business cards in my leash pouch because I'm always talking to people about the dogs, health, clubs, etc. To give them info about the board would be nice also, instead of writing it on my business cards ;)

Well, people could use the site logo and this is the site description:

Cavalier Talk is a discussion board community about Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, with information on CKCS health, care, training, finding a breeder, shopping, rescue dogs, puppies, and photo galleries.

Maybe we should add a health warning for addiction? What else would people like to see on the cards?

What a fantastic idea! I used to love creating things like that on the computer & would be happy to give it a shot if you want. I'm not sure how to create a PDF file though....

Here is the card I made up ...(why couldn't we have more than one card to choose from??) I posted it as a photo but can send a jpeg file (or other) to someone who can post it as a PDF if you all want it or like it. Mine is a bit different. I left a space for someone to write in their own personal info if they want. I took a couple pics from the calendar competition and made Cavalier images from them. (hope that was ok!) Ideas on changes are welcome:

If people have a couple of options and want to send me a tiled page (so that they will print out as cards) I will make a pdf and post it for download.

They both look great! I know we have lots of talent here for designing cards so feel free to make up a design and I will make it available as a download.

I can't see any of the PDF'S :(

This is a GREAT idea. I'm forever telling anyone who will listen to me about BYB'S Puppymills and SM and I suspect a lot of people forget Cavaliertalk.com by the time they get home, so printing out cards is an ACE idea - WELL DONE LYNN!! :mexwav:

Do you have Adobe reader (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html)on your computer

If so you just need to click on the link for the page to be displayed

Try right clicking over the link and select "save Target as" you will have to save to your computer but it will save as a pdf and you can view it from there.

Karlin,
is it OK to go ahead and print out these cards to distribute?
The amount of people that I have met recently who know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the tiny little Cavalier puppy that is being chucked along on a leash behind them, is depressing, to say the least :(
