I just came across this and it looks like a great and inexpensive solution for people with dogs that like the kitty litter snack tray!

I bet my Gavin would beat it, and Buffy would get his back end stuck in it :D

 I think it would be enough to block Lily my main poop eater as she is so small but Quincy would have a hard time using it with his three legs -- I am afraid he'd plop right into the cat poops himself.

My sister bought that litter box for her cat, but her cat wouldn't use it. She lives in NYC too and paid $40 for it a year ago. I'm seriously tempted to try it for my cat though ... right now I have the x-pen around the litterbox where the cat can squeeze through but Lucky can't.

Karlin, we have the same problem with the dogs. I am going to try it. I hope my cats will use it. What we do now is have a gate across the room that has the kitty litter box. It is one of those old accordian gates that is made up X's. Not safe for children, but perfect for cats going into the room and dogs staying out of the room. It sure would be nice to take down the gate.

This is what we use a barrier for the laundry room, where the litter box is. We don't use the door option, we just keep it closed. It's low enough where we can just step over it, and the dogs haven't yet try to jump over it...although I'm sure they could. We've had it for almost a year now, and if the day comes where they do decide to jump over it, we'll just modify the door to make it small enough for the cat only.

I wonder if a Golden Retriever could get his head in it?
Does anyone know how large the hole is?

What I do with Weezy's litter box is turn it into a corner with the door facing the corner. She can get in but the big head can't. I'm waiting for him to figure out that he can actually shove the box so he CAN get his big head into it!
