Madison, our 10 month old blenheim, has always had a some tears on the inner corner of her eyes. In the last 2 days, however, she has had more gummy/gunky stuff on the inner corner of her eyes - more like what people call "sleep." Has anyone else ever had a dog that gets this gummy/gunky stuff? Is it possibly due to a weather change or mild eye irritation? Or, is it something more serious - like an allergy or an infection?
Thanks for your thoughts.

I have noticed Hali's eyes water after she's been out in the cold?

Large eyed breeds like cavaliers tend to get this. If it is really gunky and smells or looks like a larger amount of discharge than normal, eyes look reddish etc, ring your vet -- it could indicate an eye infection. Some gunk is normal though, as is teariness and some fur discolouration from tearing.
