View Full Version : HOMED: Rhode Island - 10.5 year old B/T w/ heart condition

10th April 2008, 02:47 PM

My name is Toby, I am 10 1/2 years old. I do have a heart condition, but I am doing great on my new meds that my foster mom got for me. My brother and I were dumped at a shelter because our parents were getting a divorce and did not want to deal with us anymore. My brother unfortunately could not handle it and passed away. I am very happy with my new foster mom, but I would really like a new family to call my own. I am really sweet and lovable, all I want is to be loved. I am crate trained also., I hope you will give my friend Kathy a call and ask to meet me. My adoption fee is $100 to cover all the shots I have rec'd by my new Dr. For more info or to adopt me, please email kjeffrey@cox.net

Oh he is lovely! Come on folks -- the oldies are the BEST. :) Anyone in that area?

He is lovely. I'll send an email right away. I have my doubts that the rescue group will send him to Miami. But I can certainly ask!

About 4 minutes pass!

Okay email is sent. Lets see what happens!

Oh bless him - what a$$holes would dump 2 little fellas just coz they don't wanna be together anymore. Makes my blood boil:eek:

Oh my god, he is gorgeous, how could they just dump him like that, it just makes me sick!!!!!!!

I know! I couldn't believe it!! He's SOOOO cute!!! I'd love to be able to help, but I already have my two and now I'm going back to work full time and already feel guilty as it is having to leave the two at home. :( I sure hope a true Cavalier lover swipes him up!

Oh how awful that his brother died because of this :( :(

I really hope that he finds a home and very soon too, keeping my fingers :xfngr: Julie!!!

Being a rescue coordinator myself, I know that an offer to fly/drive in and get him would get an applicant better consideration, especially if policy was to adopt in the local area.

Kathy emailed me and told me that they have no way to transport a dog to Miami. I have emailed back that I plan to be in that area in July and could pick Toby up then. IF that's not soon enough or if Toby isn't well enough to fly back with me from upstate New York, do you know of anyway to put a Toby Relay together. I could meet the relay in Virginia as one of the horses I train is moving to a farm here Charlotteville at the end of May. Any thoughts you might have on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

I would love to have Toby come and join the Z Team!

Any news? My parents are driving from the Boston area to Atlanta this weekend...

I haven't heard anything but I'll call right now. Thanks

Toby will be going to someone in the northeast part of the country. Among other things, the foster parents are concerned about what the change in climate might do to an older dog. I didn't think of that, thank goodness they did.

thanks for the update. :)

I'm sorry for the disappointment Julie but it sounds a very caring rescue, and they have found him a good home.

Bless you for offering, I'm sure the right dog will be out there for you somewhere, and in the meantime let's celebrate that another oldie has a new home :)
