cavalier club

Rather than the Kennel club, would it not be of long term interest to have a cavalier club worldwide that breeders could register dogs etc.

The current situation allows clubs to recognise other clubs... which has some problems, that's true. For example it is probably most often used as a loophole for breeders who cannot get AKC registered breeding dogs to get started on breeding --generally for a BYB or puppy farm market -- by bringing in say UK or Irish dogs under dual registration from breeders who are either naive or simply don't care what happens to their dogs down the line.

It's one sad reason why in most places, club registrations don't necessarily mean anything -- that is the abolute lowest entry level bar for starting to look for a puppy but registration isn't hard to get by anyone who wants it.

The main issue with a worldwide club would be that different jurisdictions have different rules. For example Sweden requires a certain amount of testing for full registration of puppies. It would be difficult to get such clubs to lower standards, I'd think, to no longer having this requirement.
