I've just bought one, you microwave it for 5 minutes {depending on the power of your microwave} and it does indeed keep warm for up to 12 hours :D

If you put it in with your dog, make sure they have space to move off it if they are too warm though.

these are great! i bought one for when Bailey is really poorly, and she loves it! also use it after her bath which makes her feel much better after the dreaded bath experience!!
