Anyone know of a cottage in the Lake District/Wales?

I am thinking of booking a small cottage or somewhere that accepts two small dogs for my OH's birthday in May. We live in the North West so I need somewhere that isn't too far for a long weekend. Any other ideas would be great.

have you tried these?

they have brill deals inc 4 day weekend break from £49 pp - you can also do a search and if u wanna take ur dogs just tick the box for dog-welcome cottages. I grew up in pembrokeshire, it has some beautiful beaches!!

Thats a great website. I have seen a couple of lovely cottages that accept two dogs. I'm not sure what the areas are like. They are in Newport Sands and Little Haven. Ideally we need some nice country walks, country pubs which accept dogs and a little village with shops. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help Ejay

Try Cottages 4you. Just tick the box that you want to take dogs. They have cottages anywhere in the country. We went away last April and hired a cottage through them, was ten of us but we managed to take five dogs. I know they have plenty cottages where you can take two dogs.

I know that little haven is nice, never been to newport pembs though. Pembrokeshire is practically covered by a whole national park and all within 20 mins driving of the coast so wherever u go there will be loads of national park walks, beaches etc which will be great for you and the dogs

here is a website about the national park http://www.pcnpa.org.uk/website/default.asp?sid=16&LangID=1 will tell you beaches etc near by the areas you are looking at.

We returned last week from Bannerdale in Keswick where we have stayed several times. Lovely cosy house with loads of walks on the doorstep and only a 10 minute walk into the heart of Keswick:

The house is owned by Hazel Hutton and sleeps 6 (only 2 of us and 2 dogs, but we like the space!). However, she also has two smaller cottages just up the road. We have stayed in the little one with one dog, but not the bigger one:

This isnt a cottage, its a caravan (The caravan is double glazed and centrally heated with two bedrooms(1 double and one twin) fully equipped kitchen with microwave and separate shower room and toilet. there is a seperate dining area also) on a caravan site and the money goes to poundies urgently needing rescue spaces or emergency boarding. Dogs are allowed!

Its an online auction on the dog rescue site. More info on this link

and theres also a cottage in St Ives, Cornwall on the website too, once again all the money going to poundies urgently needing rescue spaces or emergency boarding
