Another item to ponder

Why is it that two Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed clubs have initiated a new process that disallows new members from having ANY voting rights on issues for a period of 2 YEARS?

Amazing isn't it? You can join and pay them dues, but you cannot vote. :sl*p: It is truly farcical. That will sure alienate a lot of prospective breeder members and has to be discouraging to know they are simply closing ranks rather than welcoming new blood and energy. And remember, these are the same people who argued in the wake of Pedigree Dogs Exposed that if they imposed any health requirements on breeders, they wouldn't join the club... well, shucks, even the most enthusiastic breeder would have to think twice about joining a club where they'd have no voice at all for two YEARS! What better to say "you mean little to us" than to deny new members the chance to have any chance to participate in the most meaningful way the clubs have -- by voting on club issues.

Of course, you have to be accepted as a member first....a new set of rules seem to be applying here as well..........go on like this and the rumoured £8,000 for PR will be only a fraction of what is needed to rebuild the reputation of the Club. :bang:

On second thoughts they really need a good PR company. The sooner they can organise this the better.
The behaviour of certain factions in the "cavalier world" makes a lot of people, especially pet owners who do not have a voice, extremely concerned.
It appears from the outside looking in that they have developed a siege mentality. It seems they are happy with the status quo and are resisting any outside sphere of influence.
Perhaps they're afraid of people joining who may have what they see as an "animal rights agenda".....whatever that means!

...anyone who doesn't agree with them, I think!
