Keen on the countryside but stuck in the town? Don’t worry – we have just the thing. This July The Robin Hood Game & Country Show comes to Essex, and it promises to be a fun filled, family day out.

Countryside Lovers & Robin Hood enthusiasts join together this July with the Southend Robin Hood Country Show.

Based at Garon Park (located on the Eastern Avenue – Southend) on 4th – 5th July – visitors are sure to have a memorable fun filled family day out with lots of entertainment. .

Come and see Robin Hood & Friends – who will be at the show all weekend interacting with the crowds - with sword demonstrations, story telling and hilarious re-enactments.

No doubt, dog lovers will head for the dog displays, Gun Dog Scurry and with the world famous Dock Dogs confirmed – see if your dog can beat the current world dog water jumping record. If you love fishing then head to the fishing zone with The Professional Anglers Association. And for those of you that enjoy something a bit different – then the sheep shearing show could be right up your street.

Those keen on feathered friends should look out for the Duck display and falconry demonstrations, while followers of fury creatures will really enjoy the ferret racing.

However, you do not have to be an animal lover to enjoy the event, as there will be all sorts of other experiences on offer. You can shop to your hearts content at over 200 Country pursuit trade stands including fishing, equine & shooting products. Or, pay a visit to Little Johns Craft Hall, Friar Tucks Food & Drink Court & Maid Marions Country Living products. Plus, there’ll be lots on offer for the little ones including an inflatable fun zone, huge climbing wall, have a go archery & childrens quadbikes.

After enjoying your day head over to the main arena where you can watch fantastic jousting displays – don’t forget to cheer your favourite knight!

After all these activities, you’ll bound to feel peckish so will be pleased to hear about the real hog roast and catering concessions around the ground.
