Can anyone help this poor girl - or know anybody who might be able to? Usually the Cavs find their new homes and/or get reserved very quickly from Many Tears, but this lady seems stuck, presumably because of her extra problem?

13-08-09 Borneo is a 5 year old ex breeding cav. She is missing an eye. She loves other cavs and is gentle sweet and placid. She has not lived in a home or walked on a lead so will need lessons. She will need a canine companion so a home with another cav would be lovely or if not a home were there is a gentle and kind dog to help her is needed.

This almost brought me to tears. Poor girl. I hope someone can take her. I can't believe she has never lived in a home. I hope she finds one soon.

Borneo still looking today and now joined by a very special little pup, so some very caring forever homes are very much needed here

DARWIN

BEING FOSTERED NEAR MANY TEARS IN SOUTH WALES
http://webzoom.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/Dogs09/Darwin-CavPup-20-08-09.jpg
20-08-09 Darwin is an 8 week old cav pup. Darwin was born without one paw so one front leg is shorter than the other. He manages well and at the moment does not need anything done, although once fully grown a vet may advise to amputate this leg. He is a real darling and loves cuddles. His breeder wants him to find a wonderful home so has given him to us.

Oh well done, Christine - good for you! I noticed this evening that Darwin is Reserved, so do hope he will go to you. You will let us know, won't you?

Meanwhile, there are two more sad faces on the Many Tears website at
http://www.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/dogslookingforhomes.htm

FLURRY

http://webzoom.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/Dogs09/Flurry-cav-24-08-09.jpg
24-08-09 Flurry is a beautiful 3 year old ex breeding cav bitch. She is VERY scared and would run if given the chance. She wants and needs to live with at least one other cav who is brave and happy to help her adjust and and very kind, gentle and patient owner. Flurry needs to gain trust and confidence. She is a special little dog with special needs for a quiet gentle family but please only apply if you already have a cav in your home and have an extremely safe garden and front door.

TINKERBELLE
http://webzoom.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/Dogs09/Tinkerbell-cavpup-24-08-09a.jpg

24-08-09 Tinkerbelle is a 9 week old cavalier puppy who is in need of a home. Sadly for Tinkerbelle she has hereditary cataracts in both eyes and will be blind. She will have to go to a home where there is another dog and where people have experience of dogs with sight problems. She will need a completely safe garden - safe enough for a blind puppy to run around in without falling into or off of anything.

I would take Tinkerbelle in a heartbeat as I already have a blind dog and know that they have a great life. They only thing they need is a house where the furniture doesnt move and dangerous obstacles are moved or made safe. Unfortunately my 12 year old daughter is the sensible one in this house and tells me we do not need another dog ( we already have three with special needs) so until I win the lottery I will have to behave. Please don't let the fact that she is going blind put you off her though. My Leo ( also from many tears) is the most fantastic character and really doesnt miss his sight, except when my girls steal his chews and run off :(

I'm THRILLED for you, Christine - bet you can't wait for Sunday to come. Like everyone else on this Board, I'll be looking forward to the photos in due course:snap:

I'm sure everyone will be pleased to know that Borneo and Flurry are both now posted on the Many Tears website as being Reserved, so that leaves Tinkerbelle (the little pup with cataracts) and Shelly (as posted by Hannahpanda).

Also a new sad and very solemn little face today:
GABEL

http://webzoom.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/Dogs09/Gable-Cav-26-08-09.jpg
26-08-09 Gabel is a very thin and very scared 4 year old ex stud dog. He will need a whole lot of TLC. At the moment he will not give eye contact. His coat has been completely shaved off. He will need another dog to live with and help him so please only apply if you have a kind and gentle dog already living in the house.

If anyone can help, or knows someone who might be able to, please contact Many Tears via http://www.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/dogslookingforhomes.htm

I try to keep away from the rescue threads because they are so heartbreaking & i want to have them all, the lives that some lovely dogs have led are just too awful.

But I,m so glad to have read this thro & to see that there are happy endings. Counting the days to sunday with you Christine!!:rah:

Poor Borneo,i hope theres a happy ending round the corner

They have said that they want an owner who is home all day due to her disability which I completely understand so my partner have spent all day discussing the older Cavs on the website ad whether we would be happy to take one on and weve decided that really its probably better to bring an older dog as for Ruby having SM a puppy probably isnt best as she suffers with pain and a young energetic pup would prob be too much for her.
SO....................weve applyed for Shelly- We cant resist the perm!!!!
Im really hoping that they will consider us as on speaking to a guy from the centre today he said that they would definatly consider us for an older dog!!

Picked up Darwin yesterday morning .... he's captured our hearts already. We've renamed him Harvey & will be posting updates on this forum. Photos to follow. Also met Tinkerbelle ... she's also gorgeous !! I was tempted to adopt her as well but didn't think my partner would have been very impressed. As we're getting married next month I didn't want to rock the boat :sl*p:

Harvey went to the vet last night for a general check-up & the vet wasn't in the least concerned about his leg. Harvey certainly isn't aware he has one front leg without a paw. I have to have eyes in the back of my head because he's so fast when he's determined to go somewhere. Last night my partner put his foot up to stop him passing & Harvey just used it as a step & climbed over.

Unfortunately he's been suffering from a few crawlies & ear mites in one ear but we have them under control. He also has minor colitis so is on a bland diet. The vet gave him 3 injections & I came away with tablets for the colitis, worming tablet & ear drops.

He's a bundle of fun & is loved by everyone who sees him.

I'll be making slideshow videos & ordinary videos so will post the YouTube links when done. I get married in 2 weeks & Harvey will be coming on our honeymoon ... yes I got the priorities right cl*p

It's really great to read that some of you have managed to adopt Cavvies from Many Tears - and good luck to those who are still hoping and trying.

Good news that BORNEO and TINKERBELLE are both reserved again, but the need just goes on and on and today there are 3 new sad faces:

KAYLA

http://webzoom.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/Dogs09/KAYLA-cav-03-09-09.jpg
03-09-09 Kayla is 4 year old and an ex breeding girl. She has come in with 3 other ex breeding cavs. They are all very sweet patient and love the company of other cavs as that is what they have known all their lives. They have never lived in a house so are not house trained or lead trained. We find the easiest way for them to learn (and the way that is the least stressful for them) is for them to be adopted to a homes that already have another another kind sweet dog for them to copy. Therefore please do not apply for them unless you already have a dog or dogs who are kind, gentle and who will be their friends.

KRISSY

There is another girl also called Koala.
They are all looking for homes still today.
I wasnt the right homefor little Tinks as they wanted someone who was home all day.
I applied for Koala over the weekend and called the centre today. We were really getting somewhere as we could visit her this weekend. I mentioned that Ruby has SM and after everything it is the SM that will stop us from rescueing an ex breeding dog.
As her future is unsure and they thought that we had enough to cope with already with out adding a dog issues in to the mix. Its very sad as Ruby has such a wonderful temprement and nature and would be perfect for bringing one of these dogs round.
I understand sooooo much that after everything these little dogs have been through that they deserve so much but its frustrating that after everything its the SM yet again stopping us from getting another Cav.
(the first reason being that I cant bring myself to get a pup with the small chance of having SM)

strange reason for not allowing you to adopt an ex-breeder, but then I guess they can bring their heartaches too.

I was allowed to adopt an ex stud dog from them 3 years ago when Cailean had advanced MVD, but maybe their policies have changed?

Sorry you've been disappointed - I'm sure if you keep your eyes open on this board, the right rescue dog will turn up for you.
