29-11-09 Erin is a 4 year cavalier. She is a beautiful little girl from a breeding kennels. She is terribly thin and we heard her snoring in the van on the way back to the rescue. When we examined her we found that it wasn't snoring. This poor girl is having awful trouble breathing and has a huge bony growth lump around her throat. We will take an x-ray tomorrow but feel terribly sad as it looks like it might be a hopeless case. We will still do everything in our power to save her. If Erin goes to a new home she will definitely need another very gentle dog or dogs to help her so please only apply for her if you are already a dog owner.

However, she will need another dog or dogs who already live in the home and who will help her learn as she has only lived in the company of other dogs. Zora is a very timid little girl but already is starting to come out of her shell. When Zora arrived she found the sofa within 2 minuets. She loves the sofa as it is her safe place. When I leave the room Zora jumps off the sofa and has a run around the lounge. She has ventured into the kitchen when I am in there just to make sure that I am still around then when I glance in her direction she scoots back on to the sofa.
I have not taken Zora out on her lead as yet as she is too worried about everything so a few days getting used to me and the other dogs is in order. She is a very loving little girl who given time will reward her new family with much much love. She loves to be cuddled though it does have to be on the sofa at the moment. She loves her food but never tries to take anyone else's. She has learnt how to take a treat from my hand and really seems to enjoy them.
Zora is the perfect looking Cavalier King Charles, she really is perfectly formed with a beautiful soft coat and eyes. Zora needs to be with owner for most, if not all, of the time as she deserves to receive all the love that only her person can give her. She also needs another little doggie friend to help her gain her confidence. I do see her watching me interact with my dogs and feel sure this helps her to feel safe and loved. She is a very special girlie so please think of little Zora especially at this time of the year when so many little ones need their new forever families.
