Boredom busters/enrichment ideas

I'm always looking to enrich the life of our doggy angels.

They have their walks and I recently bought 2 Nina Ottosson toys (dog brick and dog fighter) HUGE successes :) and I'm trying out Kong recipes. Does anyone here have any good toy recommendations/game recommendations/anything to provide doggy minds with mental stimulation and happiness, thanks.

I'd love to hear about the dog toys you have jsut purchased, they sound very interesting. I'm always trying to keep mine busy especially in the winter when getting out is so hard.

Hi Marjorie,

Here's some videos off youtube (not my dogs)

I bought them the plastic 'dog brick' and the 'dog fighter' and am delighted with the reaction both provoke :) efore I bought them I wasn't sure if the dogs would find them annoying, they didn't, they LOVE them. (Dog fighter needed a sand however to smooth it down before I gave it them.

Oh how wonderful! I did see the brick at a local store here and was admiring it, but it was very costly $70 Cdn. I hope you got a better price than that. I'd love to get one.

These games look wonderful. I think BudBud, our Cavalier, would have a great time with them. Both of my Clumber girls would eat the parts if given even one second of opportunity.

If you are looking for indoor games for the winter, we make "tunnels" out of kitchen or dining chairs for BudBud -- that he needs to "scoot" through as opposed to walk -- you can make them more and more complicated. If you have children they will enjoy helping put the tunnels together.

Personally, I am counting the days until Spring already!

Ruby LOVES LOVES LOVES hide and seek BUT it did take a while to teach it to her as a puppy, im really glad I took the time then though as it keeps her busy for a long time- she also has a puzzle but has learnt to solve it in seconds now.
Charlie will just play catch with his mini tennis ball for as long as I entertain so.
I normally just do some obedience training on the dark nights to keep their minds at work and alot of the time they play with each other as well.

Not long to go the evenings are already getting a wee bit lighter!!!

We bought the Nina Ottosen Dog Fighter game and it arrived on Wednesday. Kendall loves it! We've been playing the shell game with her for awhile using plastic picnic cups. I used the pegs from the game to play the shell game to show her that they had treats under them too. She picked up on the game right away. Now she gets excited when I take the box off the shelf. :*nana:

My co-worker, who also has a Cavalier, bought two of the other games and we plan to switch every so often to keep them interested.

I was able to post a video of Kendall with the Dog Fighter Game on YouTube.

There are more pictures on her blog.

I recently bought Leo a Dog Brick from Zooplus. It's great and keeps him quiet for a while.

My youngest daughter Katie plays hide and seek with him too which he LOVES. So do I as it keeps them both entertained!
