I know exactly how you feel- just take something to do or a friend or something.

Just take deep breaths and try and take everything in.

We are all here for you and good luck

Knowing what I do now about SM, I am kind of glad that I was ignorant of it when I took Riley for her scan. I knew she had some neurological problems (weakness, imbalance, mini-seizures) but I had never heard of SM at that point. It certainly was a lot to take in especially when the neurologist mentioned that surgery was in her best interest, but it made waiting for the results of the scan easier since I had no clue about the extent of the damage there may be. Remember to take a list of questions and write down the answers if you can't have someone else with you. If the results indicate SM, it is a lot to take in and you may not remember what the neurologist said. If someone is with you they can be an extra set of ears in addition to support. Otherwise I do suggest writing stuff down. I find I am still asking questions about her scan which was in May 2008. Good luck. We are all waiting anxiously for the results.

Just to wish you all the best tomorrow. The worst thing must be not knowing.Once you have all the information, then you can try to deal with and and do what's best best for Charlie.
Once the root cause is established you can work with the specialist to find the most suitable treatment for him.
Stay strong.

The best of luck with the scan tomorrow. I do think knowing what you are dealing with -- or not dealing with -- does really help. Let us know the results when you feel ready.
