Clares webpage has a new link to the 5 generation griffon Bruxellois tree. Very interesting to see the results of Frank and Lee Pieterse breeding

Thanks for posting that -- it is a very interesting diagram that shows how you can breed away very quickly from a problem in the line if you choose your clear dogs. As Lee herself stated, this doesn't mean you absolutely wont produce dogs with SM, but it does strongly show that scanning and then using the best dogs when they are clear at breeding age gives consistent improvement down five generations.

It affirms both the speculation and recommendations of researchers generally, and also the argument made by Dr Sarah Blott that breeders CAN improve lines IF they scan/use their best dogs.

I wonder - is it the same kind of MRI pictures taken for examen the Griffon and the Cavalier?
