You have dunes and a wonderful beach at Winterton itself!!
You're also not too far from Bacton Woods. There are beaches at Sea Palling {you have to go left when you get over the ramp, the area to the right is off limits in the Summer.}

Further north, more fantastic beaches :)

Onlead only but Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden is really well worth a viist.

Have a look at this site - lots of ideas :D http://www.tournorfolk.co.uk/petswelcome.html

I used to live at Sea Palling, so many happy memories of walks on the beach with Rupert, Fillipa and Peaches :l*v: all Cavaliers sadly now at Rainbow Bridge.

We spent a lovely week in May camping a bit further round the coast at Burnham Deepdale, and found most of the beaches safe and dog friendly - especially Holkham, and Hunstanton north of the town area (take the car out towards Old Hunstanton and park by the lighthouse). Hunstanton also has a really nice pub/restaurant (The Waterside) on the promenade which is very dog-friendly - I think there were eight dogs in the restaurant when we were there! A lot of the Norfolk Coastal Path is safe for dogs off-lead (you can walk from Holkham to Wells-next-the Sea, for example), and if you don't want to walk round in circles, take the Coasthopper bus (dogs are free) which stops at all the villages along the coast, from Kings Lynn round to Cromer. A lot of Norfolk pubs are dog friendly - there's a long list on the Doggie Pubs website (arranged by county). North Norfolk Council produces a very comprehensive information leaflet about where you can and can't take dogs on beaches.

Enjoy your holiday!

W've been going to Winterton on Sea for the past 5 years. This year we stayed in a beautiful thatched cottage right opposite the Fishermans Pub (very very dog friendly):)

We found a lovely walk which we reached via the Car Park at Pinkeys Wood - there is a well marked pathway through the woods and you reach par of the Pacton Way. This part follows and old railway and therefore was quite safe to let the dogs off on. It was about a 20 minute drive from Winterton - the first time we went we had problems finding it as we heard of it by word of mouth - so 2 very friendly policemen gave us a police escort all the way there from Bacton!:biggrin:
