Thanks for that; one for the library. I didn't know cavaliers were one of the most affected breeds.

No it's something we don't hear very much about - and actually I have only heard of three Cavaliers over the years diagnosed with this, not sure if it is more prevalent in other countries?

I think if they are only mildly affected it would only be picked up by a cardiologist anyway. Sadly the more severe cases have a very poor prognosis without the surgery - and don't usually make it beyond their 1st birthday.

It is hereditary so affected dogs should not be bred on from.
