Rupert's Fund Auction is Over......and my Tucker is an angry dog!

Pat

Well-known member
I was at the ballet last night, and I returned home to one very angry Cavalier boy!

"Mom," said Tucker, "the auction is over and you didn't bid on anything."

I explained to him that after we won our Ruperts cuddlies in the last auction, there wasn't really anything that I just "had to have" in the auction that ended last night. And I reminded him that I had paid some of the expenses for getting copies of CDs of his MRI and for fedexing them from UGA to our home and then on to London so I was continuing to support the cause.

Not good enough for Tucker! He is threatening to bite me......hard......if I don't do something to make up for not bidding in the auction. He is snarling, and his teeth are bared, and they are really big for a Cavalier.....so I am about to make a paypal donation to RF to avoid some major blood-letting. I've copied and pasted the info below to donate in case there are others who want a very easy way to make a quick donation - no amount is too small!

Pat (typing under extreme duress.....)

How to make a donation:

If you are using PayPal, all you need to do is use this e-mail address for your donation:

[email protected]

This will bring up the Cavalier SM DNA research account (Syringomyelia DNA Research will be listed as the fund when you put the donation through). You can choose the amount you wish to donate, then please use the comments box included on the donation page to note that your donation is for Rupert's Fund. If you want to be extra sure you can also e-mail Penny using that e-mail address and note that you have made a donation for Rupert's fund.

Goodness Pat poor Tucker - what a mean nasty dog guardian you are to not buy anything for him ;)

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SENDING A DONATION, THAT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED cl*pcl*pcl*p

We hope you enjoyed the ballet though

That's a really generous gesture, Pat - heartfelt thanks, and we trust Tucker is smiling on you again

I have been desperately wanting to make a donation but ..... although employed, have been unpaid for the past 2 months! and retrenchment is definitely on the cards. :( I have been job hunting, but with the current economic situation, its very bleak!

I promise that just a soon as I get on my feet again, it will be my first priority!!!!

Bless you Darlene - we know how hard it is for everyone right now and really appreciate any pennies anyone can spare :D

There is a lot you can do though without actually donating money - using http://rupertsfund.easysearch.org.uk/ for searching the internet rather than google etc and http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ to buy items

Telling people about Rupert's Fund and about the above too will make such a difference, also publicising things like the auction and the Cavalier Matters shop
http://www.cavaliermatters.org/shop.htm

We also still have the Rupert's Fund recipe books available see here
http://www.cavaliertalk.com/forums/showthread.php?36067-Rupert-s-Fund-recipe-book-ORDERS!!

and there will soon be some more wonderful merchandise including special Rupert's Fund cards :D

Of course there are others way to help - maybe ask family and friends to sell items on E-bay, have coffee mornings etc.

I'm sure everyone can think of other ideas to help

It would be lovely if this could be stickied somewhere. I can't do anything at the moment (though I can use the search engine, how does that work?), as hubby is recently unemployed.......but I will think of something. It's too important not to!
