Since the addition of the new board features, I have been unable to start Paragraphs and press enter to add my name at the bottom of my posts. It seems like it just wants to keep in one long paragraph. I also have no way of telling where I will be starting a paragraph as I do not have a blinking icon or curser to tell me where my post is starting from. Is this a glitch or something I need to fix on my end? Thanks for the help. Becky

99% of the time, anytime I post I get the issues with posting. Its very glitchy and hard to really post much like this. Becky

I post from iPhone, via tapatalk.

It lets me make new paragraphs.

What device (phone, tablet, computer), and operating system (droid, iOS, Mac, windows) are you using? Maybe it's specific to certain hardware or software.

Laptop, Windows 7 home. I can't even go back into a sentence to add a letter. I can only add something at the end where the curser is supposed to be. Becky

I am still finding the forum a tad glitchy. PM's don't submit properly for me. I am gonna blitz my pooter and reinstall windows. Hopefully that will solve it

Let me know if it works. I bought this new laptop 2 weeks ago and this website did well up until the shutdown and new stuff installed onto this site. All other sites I go to work well. I have no other issues besides this site.

Some people are reporting problems in the support forum for the software, but nobody seems to know yet what's causing this. I'm not having any problems myself using a current version of Safari on the Mac. Some people seem to have problems with Firefox and with Chrome browsers. Unfortunately there isn't much that I can do at this end at the moment except wait for the software company to figure out what might be going on. In the meantime, you might try downloading and using a different browser than the one that you're currently using and see if that works any better. The issue is very unlikely to have anything to do with the operating system; it is going to be something to do with how the site displays on a specific browser.

Can someone having problems let me know asap here if the problem is still happening?

N.b.–for the moment people will be unable to access blogs.

testing. Yep still happening here. No curser, cannot go back in the sentence to change anything unless I erase the whole sentence. Cannot press enter to start a new paragraph. I am using firefox. I guess I will have to go to IE in order to post anything to this site until it gets fixed. Becky

Ok I notice if I use reply with quote then I do get a cursor, I can go back into a sentence and I can press enter. That is with Firefox. But if I am posting a new thread or replying without using the quote then I do not get all of that.

Okay, thanks for that. That means one possible cause of the problem is not the cause! I have one other thing to try as well but I don't know if I'm going to get around to that today. Actually, I have two things that I can try. But the issue definitely looks like it is some glitch in certain browsers because I can't duplicate the error on my own computer, and other Windows users are not having the problem. I can have a look and see if I can create the problem using Firefox and then do some other tweaking around.

I just noticed that if I use reply with quote then I have full function. If I start a new thread or reply without quoting then I do not have the functions. That is with firefox. Thank you for looking into the issue. It is truly hard to post with it like this.

We're on Windows with Firefox version 4 and not having any issues at all if that helps? are you running the latest version of Firefox?

I have about 4 Cavalier Talk windows open as I'm doing various stuff and they are all going ok

I don't have the newest version of firefox because I didn't like the set up. I have 3.6.6 version. Becky

This is a test posting, done with Firefox 3.6 and Vista.

I have a cursor and have just been able to make a new paragraph by pressing enter :D

Now I will try to make amendments to the sentence I am typing. OK here goes.................well everything works fine. I have just pressed delete, which worked as I wanted and the system let me go back to retype the alterations.

So all this means that the system is working very well for me using various gizmos.

Ok DH did some fiddling on my laptop. He pressed buttons and when he pressed "INS" my functions have come back to me. Not sure why that works but I hope that helps anyone else having issues.

I thought the issues were solved but for some reason it only worked for a little while. Now I am back to the same when posting a new thread or reply without quoting. Has the issue been resolved as far as the owners of all the forums?

I guess I could ask my husband to reinstall windows 7 to see if it works. Not sure if that is my issue, I just bought the computer a few weeks ago.

Eeee. sorry you had to do an entire Windows reinstall! Actually the problem probably could have been resolved by clearing cookies. the cache, etc. I will post suggestions. But have to go find the right thread on the support forum.

Thank you Karlin. I would hate for my husband to have to take everything off and put everything back on...He would not be a happy camper LOL I hope there is an easier solution. I will be awaiting instruction.

It's impossible to know exactly what it is but some possibilities are: browsers, browser settings, cookies being blocked, Internet and security settings, ISP and/or cache issues, firewalls, ad-blockers, spyware, proxies and any other application that affects Internet content.

Knock on wood:xfngr: that this is now fixed for me! My husband tried everything suggested except uninstalling windows. Nothing worked. It didn't even work on his computer. So then we both tried IE and it worked for both of us. So we knew it was firefox related. So he reverted back to 3.5.6 and it is now working. I would install the new firefox but I do not like the new setup for it. So for the time being I do have my cursor back and I can press enter:jmp: Crossing all fingers and toes:xfngr:
Thank you Karlin!

If the problems with the editor are a consistent problem (as it seems to be) for some users, they will eventually issue some sort of patch to correct it, at least.

Meanwhile, I will try to find a more specific list of things to try and how/why...
