Cavaliers are such an inspiration...

that one of the members of our forum has kindly arranged to donate £250 every 2 months to Rupert's Fund to pay for scans Isn't that just so incredibly generous?

We are truly blessed to have such wonderful people around us :flwr::flwr: and to have our beloved Cavaliers to inspire us to such great things.


I know not all of us are in a position to help financially, but there are so many other things you can do which involve little or even no money

One of the easiest is by using http://rupertsfund.easysearch.org.uk/ for searching the internet rather than Google etc and http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ to buy items [you go through this site to do your normal shopping and the retailer donates a percentage to Rupert's Fund - it doesn't cost you a penny ] - £20 has already been raised in just a few short weeks by people doing this :wggle:


Telling people about Rupert's Fund and about the above too will make such a difference, also publicising things like the auctions.


Of course most of us buy presents from time to time, http://cavalier-gift-shop.org/index.php is a wonderful place to obtain them






and keep a look out for the auction in the Autumn [you could do your Christmas shopping!] - maybe you could also start thinking about items you might like to donate?

Of course there are others way to help - maybe ask family and friends to sell items on E-bay, hold doggie parties or walks, have coffee mornings, have raffles and bring and buy stalls at these events, even do a car boot sale.

Other ideas to raise money could be...a bake sale, a doggy wash (like a car wash, but people can bring their dogs by for a shampoo, a walk/run fundraiser where people sponsor you, hummmmmm what else....I'll keep thinking). I might do a bake sale at my husbands work. Any ideas of how I could make/get graphics for a little PDF to send via email to people at his office? I could shoot it around with info (I would need help with some of the content as I am not that knowledgeable on Rupert's Fund as other are) and once I make a bake sale e-flyer for Rupert's Fund Bake Off...we could all use it! Just send the doc to everyone and anyone who wants to can have a bake sale! I like that one!!

Thanks guys - but Tania did all the hard work creating the Cavalier Matters website, and also the gift shop - hours and hours of research go in to tracking down all those wonderful items and organising them, and then of course putting them in the shop

Some of us help by sending her links to fantastic goodies that we find, so that she can contact the company. Of course people have also helped greatly by donating old year books etc for the preloved section - look out soon for a really lovely book in that section - Royal Toy Spaniels by Alicia Pennington. It's the only one that features Cavaliers and King Charles, she was the lady who judged the Cavalier and Charlie match at the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club Championship Show at Blenheim Palace last August


Brooklynmum - fantastic ideas there thank you - there is a website banner for Rupert's Fund [as featured here www.rupertsfund.com] might be difficult to print but would work brilliantly in a PDF.

I am going to email my husband now and gauge what his thinks about sending this around his company. I am already known and loved for my baked goods that he brings to work with him all the time so hopefully people will get on board! He works in finance, so maybe I will ask for donations too or something like...cookies are free, but donations are appreciated per 1/2 dozen...that might get the $$ up a bit more! I feel like people in finance might be more apt to splurge a little on this IMO, not that I am trying to take advantage of the bankers though ha ha ha!!

I do not have an SM dog, but in the back of my mind with some things that Brooklyn has been going through, I feel in my gut it will get diagnosed at some point. If not, then that is great, but if so, I want to know I am doing everything I can for her and all the cavs out there. Besides, I love this breed, not just my dog, and anything I can do to help what-so-ever, I will. You guys are all doing such a great job, and I will be happy to do what I can too.

The home baking sounds yummy!I think the fact that you already have a reputation will add heaps to your sales - and getting people to donate is likely to raise far more than setting a selling price - could you be really cheeky and maybe ask one of your husband's friends to donate a larger amount, that sometimes embarrasses others in to doing the same Not the most ethical thing to do I know but it's in a good cause
