Even though I haven't posted much the last year, both Molly and Éowyn are thriving. We have moved to a new house, and the garden has finally been fenced and is safe for the dogs. Here are some pics from the last months.

Hello! Éowyn, the happy blonde, loves the camera.

There was a little girl,
Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good,
She was very, very good,
But when she was bad, she was horrid.

Molly was sick this spring, problems with her anal glands, but Éowyn took good care of her.

Hi

Nice to see you back and lovely pics as always .:) Is molly
fully recovered now and what was up with her an infection ?
Since my four have been on raw thankfully we rarely have a
problem with any anal glands and no scooting at all .

hello and welcome back! Sounds like you've been very busy. The pictures are lovely, the one with Eowyn lying on her back is hilarious! Dogs do the funniest things and they don't even know it

Thank you, all of you.
Brian M: Molly is fine now, but it was quite a week in April. We were preparing for a get-away-weekend, had booked hotel, restaurant etc., when Molly two days before got fever and yelped for pain. We quickly realised that it was an anal gland infection, and we rushed to the vet. As those things always are, it was outside normal hours, so we had to do some calls to find the vet with the night shift. It was quite severe, and the vet couldn't even touch the anal gland. We got her some medicine and were sent home with a new appointment two days later.
That night I slept in a separate room with both the dogs, since Éowyn couldn't bear being apart from Molly.
A funny thing in the middle of it all: When I drove Molly to the vet, Christian called me on the cell phone and asked me to return for him and Éowyn. All I could hear in the background was Éowyn howling loudly, really crying after me and Molly. So - I turned the car and fetched them  Éowyn was much calmer now! Who said separation anxiety?
Back to Molly: During the night I must have been sleeping, for suddenly I could see Molly was cleaning herself, and the anal gland had ruptured. LUCKILY that was the day we were supposed to go away, and I could cancel everything and stay at home with her. I called her own vet, and he asked us to come straight away. She bled and was sore, and he cleaned it up, gave her a cone and more medicine.
All in all it took 14 days with cone and 4 visits to the vet. I have been appointed to OBI - Official Butt Inspector, and check her regularly.
We have shifted their food during the last 6 weeks to something with more fibres. I am not sure that operation is an option, yet, even though both dogs have had two "anal gland attacks". The vet advised us to wait and see.

Leo had a ruptured abcess in february:( We had him on pro fibre but Nicki suggested oatbran. Ive just started adding it to his food and fingers crossed it'll work. Lots of people have had sucess with it.
