The Cavalier Club is holding a Health Clinic on 24 September, for heart and eye testing. The heart testing will be done by a cardiologist (usually Simon Swift) - it's not a full examination, but I have found it useful as an annual check on a dog who already has diagnosed MVD, to see whether the murmur is progressing or not. It's also a chance to get brief advice from a cardiologist or ask questions. The clinic is open to any Cavalier owner, not just club members, but you do need to take KC registration certificate with you (registration on the Activities Register for those without breed registration - or even a pedigree, like my Aled - is also acceptable). There are also other health days/clinics coming up in other parts of the UK - look on the Cavalier Club website (www.thecavalierclubuk.co.uk (http://www.thecavalierclubuk.co.uk)) under Cavalier Health Days.

The clinic is being held at
Battram Access Centre
Battram Road
Battram, LE67 1GA
DIRECTIONS: Leave M1 at Junction 22. Take the A511 towards Coalville, at the second roundabout take the first exit, B585. At the next roundabout continue on the B585 to the village of Battram. There will be a Club sign outside the venue.

Kate, Oliver and Aled (who are proof that heart checks aren't always bad news - neither of their murmurs have got worse for the last 2 years, which is very good to know)
