Introducing Tilly and her family

Hi all, My name is Eve I am 41, married to Rob and we have two teenagers Charlotte 17, Chris 14. We have our first family dog ever, so am totally new to all this. We choose the Cavalier as my daughter fell in love with the breed. We found a local breeder on preloved and she introduced us to a beautiful tricolour pup, which we bought as a 17th birthday present for my daughter. We have named her Tilly, we have had her for just 2 weeks and we have all fallen head over heals in love with her. She is 10 weeks old this saturday (22nd october) We are all still learning not just about this breed, but also about dogs/puppy in general as have only ever kept gerbils in the past, so would be grateful for any advice on just about everything! looking forward to posting, reading and making new doggie loving friends!

We are in the same boat, we have our first family pet. My husband and I haven't had any pets since we were both very young, so
it's a brand new experience for us too. I didn't know much about the breed when we first bought our little guy (now 3 months) but this
forum is a great venue to just chat about your furry family member or if you have any issues or need advice.

Would love to see a photo of her.

Hi Eve & Tilly

Like you said it doesn’t take long to fall head over heels with a Cavalier. Enjoy this special puppy time it rushes past so quick and as soon as you know they are all grown up.

But please please please get health insurance for your dog. I would give this advice to everybody but especially as you are saying that you got her from a breeder on preloved. If you have managed to look on the health section you will see that this lovely breed has many health problems.

Welcome....i too am new here..its great to get some advice on certain issues.
Thanks for the pet insurance tip.....im looking into it as my vet advised me too......

Hi, my Bobby is 14 weeks, I have learned so much in the 6 weeks we have had him and found this forum useful. I agree about pet insurance, I recommend lifetime policies. I also recommend puppy socialisation classes, we have been twice so far and they are great fun as well as teaching us and Bobby how to do the simplest of things which we may never have thought about. If I can help at all, I will be happy to :).
