Thank you so much to everyone who has helped to raise this money - especially recently the wonderful Tania and her team of helpers, who raised over 5,000 at Crufts of which 3,000 has been donated to Rupert's Fund.

Every penny really helps - we have received donations from fundraising events, as a thank you for help given [which was extra special as it was a donation from a forum member in honour of help from other forum members ] and in memory of the sad loss of our companions.

You can help without spending a penny by supporting us:

recycling printer cartridges, mobile phones etc [and persuading friends and businesses to do like wise!]

Not forgetting of course the auctions...the Spring auction begins tonight!!

The work of the Cavalier Matters team at Crufts was just phenomenal, raising over 5000 total, of which 3000 has been very generously donated to Rupert's Fund. We have also had a steady stream of donations over recent months from so many different people and organizations, including many people here who donated through our last auction (and the next one is about to begin! Another chance to get more wonderful things and also help contribute towards cavalier health!).

The total raised now is really extraordinary:

******* 20845.52 *******

Which equates to $33,082 or €24,928 !!!!!!

In just 2 years, this fund, which was created here at CavalierTalk, has raised over 20,000 to help researchers find the cause of syringomyelia in cavaliers, and to improve treatment possibilities. I do not know of a single alternative source of cavalier health funding which has raised so much money, in such a short period time, from such a wide range of donors, to deal with SM. I do know from researchers that many intriguing new insights have come from the many scans that they have now been able to do on cavaliers over 5 to 6 years of age, a critical age group for understanding the disease.

Much of that funding has been raised on this board, by board members, through donations large and small, and the most creative range of activities anyone could imagine! :D

Thank you so much for continuing to keep the faith that this horrific condition can be overcome and that we might all be able to own healthy and happy cavaliers in the future.

Our next goal: 25,000!

59 scanned! :) Or I think that is what is scheduled if not yet completed -- think two are waiting to be done. :)

That's amazing! It just shows how every single donation --no matter what the size- counts.

What is extra special about Rupert's Fund is that it has received support from so many different people:

Although the vast majority of the fundraising comes from members of the Cavalier Talk forum and Cavalier Matters, there have also been contributions from individual breeders who have either paid for their own MRIs or made donations through the 'gifting' of their puppies. Rupert's Fund has also received donations from cavalier groups such as 'Clever Cavaliers '
