Making dehydrated treats

I am thinking about making my own dehydrated treats for Remy and Callie and am looking at this dehydrator

With all the concerns about treats being manufactured in China and being tainted plus the cost of treats today, it seems like an easy and viable solution.

I also love the idea of knowing exactly what I am giving my pets and the list of possibilities (chicken, sweet potatoes, fish, turkey) is appealing.

Does anyone on here make their own treats?

My wife uses this dehydrator to make herself dried fruit treats --

I think she's given Skippy some of the dried apple slices she's made with it. Don't be surprised though -- the fruit shrinks a LOT after it's dehydrated. I was amused to see the tiny chip bits that were left after my wife put in some figs.
