HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVER !

I'm delighted to announce that Oliver is fourteen today.
A lifetime flushing pheasant and grouse on the moors, and chasing girls at home has left him somewhat arthritic, but he is the happiest dog I have ever owned and delights even now in climbing back up the stairs on a morning to jump on me and sing 'Good Morning' !
Lots of love Tiger from Mum, Dad and all the Smiffs!!!

Here he is taken four weeks ago.

Oliver says thanks for the good wishes and here are some photos taken at his picnic of him and most of his 'Smiff' family.

Nicki we pinched the hat idea from Ruperts party ............ thanks!!

Everyone had a great day and only one poorly tum today and that was from Greedy Gubbins Cassie, extreme left in group photo. Think she scooped up a few too many rabbit droppings with her egg sandwiches !!

Thanks again everyone,
Ruth, Ollie and the gang

EEK what happened to Teddy's hat  Not enough superglue there Ruth!!!

They look so cute - glad you had a good picnic, what a lovely way to celebrate Oliver's birthday.

Hope Cassie's tummy is better now - tell her not to be such a greeedy guts in future

I think the hats are brilliant, they really do add to the sense of occasion - we also had balloons with "Happy Birthday" on, and a Winnie the Pooh Happy Birthday banner...I haven't taken them down yet as they look so cute!!

Ross is looking good :D

Re the photos, if you copy and paste the third line down under the photo on Photobucket, they should come up automatically on here...

Hi everyone have been away on holiday so playing catch up with the groups. Such lovely photos Ruth and congratulations to Oliver aka Tiger. Such an achievement getting him to 14 years old Bless him.

Had a real chuckle over the photos and loved The slapper in her hat and my dear darling Pepy's who I have such a soft spot for. Mucky pup personified. Looking quite neat and tidy on the picnic

All looked to have had a good time, a real Cavalier pawty there! Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures.

All the best

Thanks again everyone, and Neets Pepys was filthy later on, he went 'mowsin' as usual.

Trying out Nicki's suggestion with this photo of Cassie, she had her sandwiches in her hat !!!!

Ah now I didn't think to try the hats as a feed bag!!!

Neets, glad you've been away - will catch up soon, things are a bit difficult here at the moment - the dogs are all ok, don't worry.

A Belated Happy Birthday Oliver!!!!

Looks like a good time was had by all 8)

Oliver most certainly is a handsome boy and certainly doesn't look all of his 14 years :)

Is the big doggy a doby or a rotty? He's a handsome looking chap too :)

Ross is a Rottie Donna - I think he was a rescue?

Ruth

Ross is a Rottweiler, but not a rescue.
Our Papillon is a rescue, Cassie the Cavalier and Josh Cavalier (not yet seen) are both rescues.

Funny the number of people who have Rottweilers and Cavaliers. I am a 'head' person, I just adore Cavalier heads and of course I think a lovely Rottweiler with a beautiful head is just gorgeous. Ross is a most handsome boy, his Mum was BOB at Crufts and his Dad was Top Rottweiler 2001. My friend bred him, and I have had Rottweilers since about 1983.
Warm wishes,
Ruth

Sorry Ruth  got confused :(

Ross is just so gorgeous, he does indeed have a lovely head.

Interesting you saying about the two breeds together - one of the kennels in Norfolk had a Rottie and Cavaliers too, and said they were wonderful together. I've heard of quite a few people with Golden Retrievers and Cavaliers too - that seems to be a good combination.

My sister has a beautiful, small Black Lab, she is two next month. She and Peaches {who normally is terrified of other dogs} became great friends, they were off hunting and quartering together, Peaches little legs going like mad trying to keep up

Well Ross most certainly is the most handsome rottie I've ever seen. They are such proud looking dogs and most certainly do not deserve their 'fierce' reputation - with the exception of one, all the others I've ever met have been the most gentle souls :)

A guy we used to live by had a HUGE GSD that was a Prison dog and also a b&t cav it was really funny to see the little one trying to keep up on walks LOL

Maxx's best friend for the first 3 years of his life (Jasper is now sadly at Rainbow Bridge) was a chocolate lab - this dog hated any other dog except for Maxx and also Charlotte, a neighbouring blenheim - it was really funny to se the three of them playing together and Jasper used to let the two little ones clamber all over him
