Molly and Éowyn are getting restless and are looking out through the window, begging to come out into the garden filled with snow. Obviously that is impossible. Short trips in a leash only, no matter how much they want to go out. Still it’s freezing, today it’s -10⁰C (14⁰F) – at noon. It’s so cold that both dogs start lifting their front paws and want to go inside after just a few minutes, so it isn’t even tempting to take them for a walk.

This night was all right. Éowyn ...

This night was almost like yesterday. Both dogs had difficulty settling down in the crate; Éowyn because she circled round and round, trying to reach her behind, and the cone banged towards the crate; Molly because of Éowyn. After almost an hour I consulted Christian, and we agreed to give Éowyn ¼ of daily painkiller dose on a spoon with A38. Molly just got A38. It helped, and by midnight Éowyn finally fell asleep. She woke up a couple of times during the night, and at 6.am. they were both wide ...

Obviously you can’t count on constant progress. This night was a bit more disturbed than yesterday. Both Molly and Éowyn complained several times during the night about their accommodation in the crate, and Éowyn still had some pain.

At 6.30 a.m. they got breakfast and medication, and Éowyn pooped, while she yelped a lot. Molly did her business, too, but much more dignified. The consistence is now back to normal for both, and Molly is now as clockwork again, like before the surgery. ...

Before going to sleep Éowyn pooped, but it was not a very good experience. She yelped in pain and ran all over the place (outside) in her leash. Poor thing. Molly didn’t poop yesterday evening, but it WAS freezing cold (-15⁰C in the night and morning (5⁰F)), so I didn’t push her. If it became necessary we could go out during the night. We then did a “butt inspection”, and Éowyn seemed a bit swollen and a bit red/inflammatory, ...

It was a rough night. Éowyn hadn’t pooped since the morning at the vet, and even though she wanted to, it was too difficult for her to let go. Right now we have a cold winter period (cold for Denmark) with -15⁰C in the night (5⁰F) and chilly winds, so I didn’t want her to be out too long. Anyway, I decided not to force her, when she wanted to go inside again.

We had taken their big crate into the spare bedroom, since I decided it was better to let them sleep there. I didn’t ...
