  1. 22nd July 2007 - Obedience Class Progress

Rain, rain go away! Well not really. Australia needs rain as drought is our curse. Having said that, these past 8 weeks or so has seen so much rain with an average of about 1 in 3 of our obedience classes being cancelled due to rain. So I was starting to feel rather irritated when it started bucketing down on the way to obedience today. This is an hours round trip for me, so a cancelled class at the last minute is inconvenient & annoying. As luck would have it, today we drove right through that ...

  2. 22nd July 2007 - BARFing Progress

It has been quite a while since I have posted any progress on the dog’s diet (BARF). They have now been on this diet for several months and I am extremely pleased with how it all has gone. The dogs love it too and Sonny who we adopted and was a fussy eater now prances around the kitchen when it is meal time.

I have a great routine now for preparing 2 weeks worth of food and this only takes me 45 minutes.

  3. 1st July 2007 - Beginner Obedience

Beau started Beginner Obedience training today. For the past few months I have been taking him to baby puppy classes which is primarily focussed on socialising along with some basic obedience like sit, drop, heel and some fun baby agility, so we moved up to the serious classes today. This phase lasts 8 weeks (provided you pass) and then they can move onto Class 1, which quiet honestly at this stage I have no idea what they learn.

Our little class only consisted of 4 but the teacher

  4. 30th June 2007 - The Doggy Door

We put a doogy door in today. This has been a mission of female persistence (men like to call it nagging) that has paid off. Hubby was/is very against the whole idea as he says we are destroying a beautiful & expensive door. But he loves me, so he put the door in for me agaist his better judgement. I must tell you that I saw a look of pure pleasure as he watched first Beau and then a reluctant Sonny popping through it.

We chose a fairly simple design, with a single transparent

  5. 30th June 2007 - The sun is shining again

I fixed Scarlett's little grave up today. Now that the sun is out and the ground has dried after weeks of rain, her little spot is rather a nice place for her to be. We live on acres, with part of the land being mown & made dog safe. The rest of the land has been left natural. It is our own little private wildlife sanctuary. This is where we laid Scarlett to rest. She is not too far from the dam and her area is surrounded gum trees, she oaks & native shrubs of many kind. I added some more ...
