  1. 29th June 2007 - See you when we get there Scarlett

We put Scarlett to sleep yesterday morning after her 7 month long battle with seizures, loss of co-ordination, muscle strength & cognition. There was no questioning that the time had come. We got the vet to come to our home & and she went her way as we cuddled her infront of the fire. She went gently as it should be and having just had the feast of her lifetime.

We buried her in a watery grave & under torrential rain, as it has been here for weeks now. I had visions of

  2. 27th June 2007 - Painful crossroads

We’ve reached a crossroad with Scarlett (11 ½ year old Boxer). The past month has seen a very rapid deterioration in her condition. Despite an increase in her anti-epileptic medications, her seizures have increased to about 5 per week. However, just about every book I've read and just about every emailing list I've been on all suggest at least some supplements. Some are very heavy handed, while other have a light touch. I do try to keep an open mind & not remain entrenched in my own ideas, but this has been sort of the last Bastion for me.

  5. 14th May 2007 - Mothers Day

Yesterday being Mothers' Day, I first took Beau to his puppy class and then I bundled he & Sonny into the car & headed up to my mum & dad's place. This was Beau & Sonny's first sleep over and they were absolute angels. We had no accidents in the house, which they explored from room to room. At bed time I made up a little area next to my bed, using their x-pen & with their blankies on the bottom. They slept there all night without a peep.

They were just so well behaved.
