Mother Nature is being cooperative on the house-training front by giving us gorgeous weather today- high 60's, low humidity, sunshine and clear blue sky. Oliver is so little that every time he seems remotely fussy (plus every time he eats/drinks/wakes up) I take him out. But today I decided to also bring the camera and sit out for longer periods. I want him to love the outdoors as much as Clancy does, so they can hang out together.
Clancy has been VERY tolerant of the baby bouncing
Or Momma Learns The Hard Way. Just because Clancy (at 14 1/2 weeks) was able to stay dry through his first night home in the family bed doesn't mean Oliver (at 8 1/2 weeks) is old enough to be able to do the same. After a 3:30 a.m. sheet change, liberal spraying of Simple Solution, and putting the baby in a belly band, we slept through the rest of the night uneventfully. He did wake me a few times with the suckling sounds from his nursing dreams, though.
He is otherwise settling
I'm sitting on the sofa listening to the blissful quiet. Hubby is napping, Clancy is napping, and (hallelujah!) baby Oliver has finally collapsed, 2 hours after arriving home, and is asleep in his puppy playpen. I gave him a hand-me-down bed that smells like just about every furry creature in the family, in the hopes he would find that comforting. I can't imagine what is going through his 8 1/2 week old mind, leaving behind all he has ever known for this strange new world. I had completely forgotten
Ok, decided to start a blog on this great new forum I have found if you'll permit me.
I live one road back from Swansea beach, and the beach is myself and tess's favourite place to run. However, as of the 1st May, dogs are no longer allowed on the beach until September 1st. Yesterday, because the weather was not very nice, I saw loads of dog walkers on the beach thinking that because the weather was not nice, the restrictions did not apply. Tess has yet to comprehend why we can't go
