Update Molly

Hello Everyone,

December Molly was diagnosed with sm. The original specialist more or less wrote her off. We quickly changed specialists to Clare Rusbridge who has given us a lot of hope. Molly has been taken off the garbapentin (carefully), we are now slowly withdrawing the Rymadil. She will stay on the Cimetidene probably for life. If I understand things correctly, Clare has not treated a dog at such an early stage. Molly has syrinxs on her neck and a very large pre-syrix on her spine. We are watching her carefully and she will have another MRI in 6 months time. This proves finding someone who understands this terrible disease is just so important.

Molly is bouncy and full of life. I found some nice soft fleece harnesses for both Molly and Dougall which hopefully will make walking easier.
Molly was in a DVD and a book last year. If she is well enough, we have
been told she can be Diva again this year.

Tania,

So sorry to hear that your lovely cav has SM, but glad to hear that there is hope for her and that you have found a good specialist.

Mary

Tania,

Glad to see you have a proper diagnosis and treatment. :xfngr: the treatment contains the pain:flwr:

Tania, Thank goodness you were able to get Molly under the excellent care of Clare. At least you now know she is in the best possible hands.(y)

I'm so glad you got a second opinion from Clare Rusbridge. (y) I hope Molly gets to be Diva. :D

Can you tell us about the DVD and book? I've been trying to figure it out on my own with no luck!
