Rosie likes kids she likes everybody humans and dogs. Ebony never liked kids from when she was a puppy, she is a better now she is a bit older. Harley don't like kids I think with Harley & Ebony they don't like the sudden movements kids make.
Harley sleeps on top of me but not the girls.
All three don't get picked up as they are to heavy.

1. I think Skippy 'likes' them, but he definitely has more fun with grown ups.

2. I don't know how much he actually enjoys it since he's not allowed on our furniture so I have to carry him up to me, but we often have naps like that, warming each other up!

3. I don't think he enjoys the actual 'act' of being picked up, as I often hear a little 'grunt' as we lift him up, but he definitely likes being 'higher up' so he as a better view of what's going on.

1. Jessie seems to have eyes, more so, for females. Any woman that pays him attention, he will drop at her feet and
roll over on to his back. We call him our ladies man. He loves kids, but also needs his own quiet space as well once he's tired,
and kids being kids, still want to play.

2. He won't sleep ON us, but wants to sleep next to us as close as possible, especially on the couch when he's napping.

3. He likes being picked up, on his own terms. If I'm trying to pick him up, so someone can come in the front door, he'll jump back and
bounce around, often growling and barking at me. He's getting a bit too heavy to keep picking up, he's over 6kgs (over 13 pounds)
and he's only 17 weeks.

1) Sonny loves anyone who will give him love including kids. He always seems sad when people don't give him a little pat or attention and just pass by during walks.

2) Sonny sleeps in his crate at night, but during the morning, day or evening he always wants to be on top of us when he is napping on the couch. He curls up and gets as close as possible. (Also anyone's lap will do, he definitely doesn't have any loyalty to just me or my husband, he just wants to be close!!!! LOL)

3) Sonny also grunts when being picked up. I think it is the cutest little noise. I'm not sure if he likes being picked up or not. He doesn't seem to mind..... And when he has been in his crate for awhile when you first let him out he practically jumps into your arms for kisses and basically forces you to pick him up. So sweet. But he also is getting bigger! He is 5 and 1/2 months and weighs about 13.5 lbs, so I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be able to pick him up. I carried him around Petsmart today because I still get worried about him in there with all of the doggy germs even though he is vaccinated and my arms were SO tired after we left!

1. Piper does seem to really enjoy being around children. She was introduced to them at a young age so she does really well with them and gets really excited when she sees them.

2. Piper has a mind of her own and sometimes she is all over me and sometimes she wants nothing to do with cuddling. Figures!

3. Piper grunts too when I pick her up! That is so funny. I don't think she necessarily enjoys being carried around but she doesn't squirm if I hold her for long periods of time.

1. Guinness doesn't like when kids pet him, but he'll play fetch with them. Thistle loves children because they are low to the ground, and always have food.

2. Guinness cuddles up right next to me, but never on top. Thistle climbs on top of both me and Guinness.

3. Not really. If something upsetting happens (fireworks, fire alarm, etc) Thistle will demand to be picked up. Guinness almost never.

Fun :)

Does your cavalier love kids? Unfortunately, not really. She LOVES babies up to about 1 1/2 and kids over the age of 10, but anything in between she is just a bit scared of. I think it is their movements and being so quick. If I am there to monitor, I just ask the kid to kneel down and put their hand out to let her sniff them only. Brooky will do that, and give a few licks, but she doesnt like it they suddenly go for her head. We don't know why, but we are trying to just help her adjust slowly :)
Does yoir cavalier like to lie/sleep in top of you? Oh yeah. The close the better. I always say she is just trying to get as close as she can to my heart :)
Does your cavalier like to be picked up? Oh she does that grunt too! It is so funny. But she likes it I think. She cuddles on in like a baby, it is pretty funny. But we don't pick her up too often.

Does your cavalier love kids?
Oh yes! All of them! He loves toddlers too. even though they can be rough he just sits there and licks them all over.
He often follows them around.

Does your cavalier like to lie/sleep in top of you?
Yes he does, but it gets quite hot uo here. So he often moves after a little bit. In the winter it is a different matter :)

Does your cavalier like to be picked up?
Yes, he talks to you when you pick him up. These cute little growling sounds. It's adorable.

1. Unfortunately, no. Neither of my dogs do. They're really nervous about being around kids, especially if they're noisy or darting around. They both tend to bark at the kids. Lyra hasn't been around kids much though, I don't have any friends with kids... nor do I like them, hahaha, so I guess the dogs take after me!

2. Nope, she isn't a huge cuddler. She likes following me around and being near me, but she doesn't sleep on me, ever.

3. She's neutral about being picked up. She doesn't mind it, but she doesn't asked to be picked up either. However, she absolutely does NOT like strangers picking her up or petting her. She isn't a very huge fan of strangers--she gets nervous around them. After she gets to know someone well though, she doesn't mind them picking her up.

1) Two like kids, two do not like toddlers (in particular) or kids under about 7

2) Varies by dog. All like to lie on a lap on occasion; Tansy is the biggest cuddler. Jaspar likes to be right next to me but less often on a lap. They all like to lie on the backs of sofas resting their head on a shoulder if I am reading.

3) Carefully supported and never by lifting them by their front legs, yes. Jaspar balances on his hind legs and reaches out his front legs to be lifted if I hold out my arms to him :). He likes being carried on a hip when I do agility with him etc -- likes to keep an eye on things from higher up. :D

1. Tommy loves people and children of all ages. Faith is the same.

2. Tommy likes to come on the bed and lie pressed up against my back. Faith, when she is with me, likes to lie on my head.

3. Tom will ask to be picked up sometimes, but he is a big dog and I am disabled so I usually encourage him to climb on my lap.
Faith likes to be picked up and cuddled by anyone. Face cuddles are her speciality.

I love these! It shows how every cavalier is so different!
Mine likes kids a lot. The smaller the better. She is disappointed when they wont say hi to her. Two days ago 4 littke girls all cuddled with her at once and she seems in heaven. The smaller the child; the more gentle she is with them.
2) she comes and lies on top of me often. She loves "spooning" and demands laptime all the time :) a bit spoiled!
3) she asks to be picked up when shes upset or when she feels like it. I havw to hold her like a baby with one paw on each side of my head.. She then calms down immediately,
Closes her eyes and falls asleeo with her head on my shoulder...

Nalu loves kids, maybe because the breeders had kids and the neighborhood kids loved visiting the puppies. She loves running after kids playing in the park, which at times makes the kids nervous!
She prefers laying along side us to laying on top.
When I approach her to pick her up, she runs away. I have to be really gentle with her. Once I have her in my arms, she loves the hug.

1) Belle loves everyone, the more they pet her the more she loves them. Bobby is a little bit shy, he likes to sniff you first, then he decides if he wants you to pet him. Both of them love kids, no matter what the age... although Bobby will bark at them (because he wants to play).
2) Belle is a cuddler extraordinaire! Bobby not so much, he will squidge up close to me while on the sofa. They both like to take the seat a human was sitting in and has just left. lol
3) Neither of them ask to be picked up, Bobby is too big and heavy for me, makes me bones ache! When I reach down to Belle, she will position herself to be picked up if she wants to... if she doesn't, she rolls over and demands a belly rub.

1) Not so sure. The only time I've seen him around kids is on Halloween night when we had a few come by. He was good and let them pet him, but wasn't too into it, just let them pet him. The funniest was one little boy, about 2, knocked on the door said Trick or Treat, saw Forrest got excited, petted him, and said thank you and walked away. He thought his "prize" at our house was petting the dog :) we had to call him back over to give him his candy.

2) Forrest prefers sleeping as close as possible to our face. It's so funny to see the positions he'll put himself in. I'll be laying in bed working on my computer and he'll go and perch on my forehead and fall asleep. It is so funny, and too cute to be annoying. A few funny ones lately:

3) He sort of groans when we pick him up about 50% of the time. Once we're holding him he usually doesn't mind. If he does, it's only for about 30 seconds and then he forgets and wants to stay in our arms. About 75% of the time if he's getting wild and we pick him up and hold him into our body he will settle down immediately. Sometimes he fights it.

Cassie (2) is fine with kids after a while, but seems to initially hate everyone as standard unfortunately! Never met another cavalier like it. She has been and is still well socialised, but will bark at everyone which puts most people off coming near her and she seems to like it that way! So of course her reward for her barking is to keep people at a distance which was her aim. She is the same with other dogs too. She is generally of a very nervous temperament, and seems to be very noise sensitive. She is an absolute angel with our 8 year old son, and will let him pet and stroke and kiss and cuddle her forever without getting annoyed or moving away.

Does your cavalier like to lie/sleep in top of you?
She will lay next to us all the time, she is sat cuddled next to me as I write this, she is rarely without human contact, only when she gets a bit hot she sneaks away for 5 minutes and then returns to her last cuddle spot. She used to like laps but now prefers laying alongside you and cuddling her belly along your legs! She likes to sneak on the pillows on the bed as we get up in the morning when they are still warm.

Does your cavalier like to be picked up?
Yes, she loves it, I think she likes to feel lofty and important and have the best view of what's around, lol.

1. I think Bailey likes kids. Unfortunately, he hasn't had the opportunity to be around many of them, but the ones he has met he seems to really like. He gets very excited and, although he's already small, he makes himself smaller by crouching to the floor while his tail wags so hard his whole but moves back and forth. It's very cute.

2. Bailey LOVES to cuddle on our laps when we are watching TV and just hanging out. He will come over and jump up on the side of the couch while making these moaning/squeaking sounds. At night he sleeps in his crate, but we've just started letting him cuddle in the bed with us after he wakes up in the morning. It allows us to get an extra hour or two of sleep and is quickly becoming my favorite part of the day. He'll usually start snuggled up next to my husband, give him a few kisses and a nuzzle or two. Then, after a few minutes, he crawls over to me and kinda wiggles himself under the crook of my arm. He'll either rest his head on my shoulder or my waist and just settle in until I make him get up with me.

3. The only time he fights me on being picked up is when I'm taking him out to potty. Unfortunately, he's still too small for the couple of steps we have off our deck into the yard, so there's no other option but to pick him up to go out. Otherwise, he seems to like being picked up and being held. He's very calm in your arms and always uses it as an opportunity to lick noses and earlobes!

P.S. Apwerner -- those pics of Forrest are just precious!!!

1. Gracie LOVES kids but I imagine it's because the smaller they are the better they smell!!! She was a little timid the first few days she came to live with us, but now it's gloves off, and she adores anyone and everyone!!!

2. She loves to sleep around my head!! She wraps herself right around our heads, it's actually quite funny!!! AT night she is in the crate but every nap time is the same way!!

3. As a puppy she LOVES being picked up and carried around...We'll see as time goes on but to be honest I hope so!! :)

1. Reagan loves children. If we are out and about or on a walk and he spots a child he will tug at the leash to go play! Ladies and children are his favorite people.

2. Reagan doesn't so much sleep on top of us, but right beside us or at the foot of the bed.

3. Reagan enjoys being held. He is too heavy to carry around now, but if we are on a long walk he will jump up begging to be carried.
