See the two NCSU 2006 Study Reports on syringomyelia in the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel at http://www.cavalierhealth.org/NCSU_2006_SM_Reports.htm

These are abstracts of two lengthier reports which are to be published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine later this year. These abstracts were presented at the 2006 ACVIM conference earlier this month.

Thanks for the link, Rod.

Worth noting that the figures on affectedness for this study, funded by the US Cavalier Helath Foundation which is in turn affiliated to one of the main US national clubs, are generally in line with Dr Clare Rusbridge's research findings so far.

There's been no indication yet of whether the Health Foundation and the Clubs themselves will therefore put in place a broader education programme on this condition in the breed and also consider taking a stance on guiding breeders as they consider how best to confront and breed away from this complex condition.
