Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance......

Minniesmum, we are taking 4 of our lot (plus four adults) on a cottages 4 you holiday, they cater especially for people with dogs....

my husband and i sometimes have to go out of the country with work, up to a month and it breaks my heart every time!

she stays with either my parents or my sister and her hubby, who all love her and she loves them.. but i always feel sooo horrible

i've looked into getting a pet passport so we can take her with us on the longer trips (ie 2 days or more.. haha) .. but i don't feel so happy about her having to go in the luggage hold and i think she's too big for an 'in cabin' dog

(plus it would be international) - has anyone else ever done it? (sorry i know that's slightly off topic)

    bonniepirate,

I think you ahve wonderful arrangements and whilst you miss your baby I'll bet she has a whale of a time

My own personal views on pet passports are that they are great for caravanning holidays etc but I wouldn't want to take my dogs if they had to go in the hold

It's not without its faults either. My hubbies brother and his wife got them for their two dogs and went away to Germany in their spacious motorhome to visit their son. On the way back, they were stopped by the German border control and told that the passports were not in order (they were). Result was it costing them a fortune in German vets fees, paperwork & phone calls and lost days for my B-I-L at work

Best to 'leave sleeping dogs lie at Grannies or Aunties '

yeah, i think i'd feel a whole lot worse than 'missing her like crazy' if something happened while travelling internationally!
