Hi everyone, At last I have got round to introducing Keiko properly. He came home on Tues 19th Sept aged 8 weeks (seemed like we were waiting months not weeks lol) and having him home is just brilliant.
The buzz in here is just unbelievable and wee Keiko has settled in far better than I ever imagined. I was expecting him to pine for his mum and siblings and a lot of sleeples nights but he has surprised us all.
We brought him home in the car in a pet carrier i got from argos which we decided was big enough to use as his crate and he just loved it from the word go. After only an hour of being home he started going in and out of it and taking his wee naps there and taking some of his wee toys with him ( watching him trying to drag some of his bigger toys in was just hilarious, but he didnt give in and got there in the end).
From the very first night he has being settling down at about 11.30pm, I bring his crate up right beside my bed and after a wee cuddle in my arms in bed he drops off and I put him in his crate. I was wary of how he would react when I closed it at night but he is brilliant ( I would love to have him sleep with me in the bed but Im so scared of him either falling out of the bed or smothering, or me rolling onto him!). He wakes with one or two wee wimpers about 3am and after bringing him outside then another cuddle he settles back in his crate until about 7am.
He has only had 4 wee accidents in the kitchen as we are in and outside like yo-yo's with him, as he has had a some diarrhea since just before he came home, but we were told not to worry too much as this can happen and it isnt continuous. He is going to the vet for another check today( the breeder had him checked by her own heart specialist vet on Tue morn and given a clean bill of health so far) and to get his first vaccination and I am dreading it, the poor wee mite!
He is such a wee pet, myself and my boys cant belive how lucky we are, he really has made our family complete. We are blessed with this wee one.
