I saw an old post on tearing and thought I would post our experience. We asked our vet for advice because Duncan tears quite a lot....
They said that bottled water could help because there is a lot of sulfur and iron in the North Florida water. We tried it for 6 months and it did help, but that can get expensive!!! :yikes
Also, someone said to put about 1/8 teaspoon parsley in their food. It did help some, but the best result was that it really helped his doggie breath. And now, he waits at each meal for his food to be "seasoned" before he will eat it.
Also, at bath time we use baby shampoo on a soft toothbrush to scrub at his stains a little.
From the board, we starting using contact solution, and try to be diligent. When we are this seems to work the best.
