How do you spot the alfa in a litter of Puppies?

Wise move

My little alfa Sheltie is a bundle of non stop energy, she still likes to be bossy given the slightest opportunity but is really quite gentle, she is very head strong, determined, she needs a firm but "gentle" trainer for her breed personality type. Daisy is firey, very funny and just loves to be the centre of attention.
I must admit she is hard work!... not always in the physical sense but keeping her very active mind and body occupied ;)

I chose the alfa for what she is.... :D I love her for being just that

Alfa pups will make themselves known to you, watch and observe over a little time, ask the breeder what her observations have found.... after all she will have spent the most time with them all.

Behaviour in the litter isn't necessarily followed at home. Teddy was a picky eater, who became a hoover overnight. He wasn't pushy, but was bold when he got here and tried to take over as boss when he was a year old.
