took daisy to the vet this morning as she needed her eyes to be looked at, because of the dry eye she has. i was in there for ages, she took daisy away for a good ten minutes to speak to another vet and get their opinion and also she did some tests on her eyes. when she got back she says that daisy has to go to a specialist on friday, so i have an appointment to go on friday morning now. was quite upset really because i am worried about her, she is teething as well, the vet says her glands are very large and the vet seemed worried cos she has been sick a lot recently and had diarrehea. daisy wont eat either, so the vet said it could be the teething or it could be something else. i have to phone the vet tomorrow morning to say to her if she has eaten or not and how she is. she did the paper test in her eyes again, and this time the left one is low too (last time the left wasn't so low). just feel a bit sorry for daisy and i m quite upset myself.

Poor Daisy and you. Some vets are very thorough and test for the most unlikely things, so let's hope your vet is one of the super careful and Daisy's problems are easily sorted.

yes i hope that it is something that she can live with, i dont mind having to put gel into her eyes, so i am happy to do that for her whole life. have to see what the specialist says on friday morning.

{{{{{{{{Emma & Daisy}}}}}}}} Hope it all goes well for you both on Friday. Alison has plenty of experience with dry eye & I'm sure she'd be more than willing to chat to you about it, Emma. :flwr:

Emma,

Here for you if you are worried about the eye probs, feel free to PM. :flwr:
My Honey-Bee *ng*l had very severe Dry Eye with a condition called "Curly Coat"...that's nothing for you to worry about though.....

Where are you going to see the specialist?

Alison, Wilts, U.K.

Big boy  s to you and Daisy. Hope you'll have her all fixed up in no time. Good luck for the specialist on Friday, I'm sure you won't need it.

I'm sorry, Emma, that poor little Daisy is having these problems. It's so easy to be affected by their problems or complaints, isn't it?

I'm the same way... I worry over them for each thing.

I hope that Daisy's vet visits result in some good answers for you both. :xfngr:

I got dry eyes once upon a time and had to stop wearing my lenses. I
was told to take flaxseed oil(health shop) to help lubricate them. It took 2 months to get into my system but it seems to have worked. You could try it with your dog as fatty oils are recommended anyways for them and it'll help hair and skin.
Just watch the poop. it takes a while for the system to adjust....in humans as well!!!!
Good luck.
Lots of info on this on internet.[/list]

Now that's an interesting piece of information. I was diagnosed with very dry eyes a lot of months ago, and the specialist seemed to think I had nothing better to do but put in ointments  Having said that, after several courses of various ointments and fake tears, my eyes are much better. I wonder if the flaxseed oil would help further? I haven't worn my contacts for years because wearing them seemed to over stimulate my tear ducts and they got mucky :yuk:

Poor Daisy, from one unwell cavvie to another Toby sends her all his hugs and sloopy kisses.

Hugs for you too, i know how you feel.Yesterday was awful for me too.

Emma how is Daisy getting on? What did the specialist say?

Have been thinking of you and hope everything is ok.
