HOMED: Charlie: 5 year old tri boy/older child/adult home

This is Charlie, who has had his lovely coat shorn down in these summer pics but it has grown out since! He is a chunky tricolour boy, aged five, who hasn't had a lot of time or attention amd would truly love to be the focus of someone's life. He was a bit of an unwanted gift as a puppy, for someone who loves him but works very long hours, and has sometimes been left outside which makes him worried that people are going to leave him alone. He has been living with a very young child who makes him a bit scared and uneasy though he has been professionally assessed and was very shy but not aggressive with small children.

He is playful and energetic, loves going for walks and being around people. He'd be fine with calm, confident 12+ kids, seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, and really needs owners who are not out at work all day (he will not be considered for a full time working home -- he needs someone who is mostly at home). He has never had a training class and one condition of homing will be for him to attend a fun basic obedience class which he will relish and which will help him gain confidence.

Overall, he needs a caring, patient home with people who will help bring out his confidence and cavalier personality.

My local vet Paddy brother is looking to rehome a cav, was going to buy one but when he heard about how i came across Sam, and all the cavs that need rehoming so has asked me to keep an eye out for one in need of a home. they have no kids and could offer Charlie a good home. They live in Galway.

when i last heard from you .you mentioned a cav. called charlie is this him.my daughter is five.does he need an older child.i think alfie would be happier with an older dog sometimes alfie finds pups to much he is a real sissy.not into the rough stuff.we def.want to give a dog a home my husband is holding of buying another.sorry about the ten yr. old my husband thinks that is to old as we are quite energetic.feel bad about that.we did discuss it tonight...

Yes it is this fellow; I hadn't realised you had a child this young. I'll talk to my trainer friends who have met this dog.

ella will be six in march she is a calm child alfie is also very shy.alfie starts puppy training classes in jan.six week course just so i can socialise him with other dogs esp.puppys.the beach is about two mins away.we or i rather take ella to school then me and alfs do our walk he also gets two walks in the ave.as my husband does that one.maybe ella is to young dont want to upset dog or ella........
