Need help with posting photos

I am running out of space on my ISP, earthlink gave me 100MB on their server free with my account, cool, but it's filling up.

i just tried to use Flickr. I've never used it before, i uploaded a photo for a new avatar picture but the cavaliertalk program says the URL is invalid. (the reason the photo is showing as my avatar is because i uploaded it to my earthlink server and used that URL).

The only flickr URLs i can find for the photo are
http://www.flickr.com/photos/20889009@N00/
and
http://www.flickr.com/photos/20889009@N00/320019577/

as you can see if you click on those links, they are valid links to the photo, they take you to the photo, yet as you can see below, when i use the tags to paste them into this post, it doesn't work, just as it doesn't work when pasted into the avatar field in the profile section.

the photo quality is much better on the second link than the first--what's up with that??

What/where is the correct URL to use to post images from Flickr to cavaliertalk?

Or alternatively, after you click on the thumbnail, LOOK ABOVE THE LARGE PIC FOR THE ALL SIZES TAB.

Once you find it, click it.

Then choose your desired size (small, medium, large and something else- thumbnail, maybe) by clicking on one of the options.

Once you get to the page where it says in bold print "Download X Size" carry on scrolling to see your pic as it will appear when you get it here.

If you are using firefox, simply right click on the image and choose 'Copy Image Location.'

If not scroll on down towards the very bottom of the page, and you'll be offered two direct picture URLs. One of these will be about 3 lines long. I usually ignore that one and carry on to the shorter static url. Copy'n'paste as usual, and drop it in with your image tags as usual here.

I hope that makes sense. It took me weeks to figure it out!

Thank you guys!! i don't know if i ever would've figured that out. This will be great, to be able to put photos on this site--i have used photobucket but haven't liked the interface, this feels cleaner and easier on the eyes. Now i can move photos off of my earthlink space and use that for music files and videos. :D

I could not get that three line URL to work at all (below)
The two photos below are from the two different URLs flickr gave me for that photo. As you can see, the second one is better quality than the other. The URLs are only different by one character

Does anyone know why they have two different links for the photo, with different photo quality on each one?

anyway, again i sure appreciate you guys explaining how to use this. I'm so happy to have this way of posting photos. thanks!!

Try the static URL at the very bottom of the page. I think that might the the one this site prefers anyway.
