    Default Fostering Question

I have a question. When I leave the house Jake and Shelby are not crated. I close the baby gate and they are confined to that part of the house. Usually my fosters don't care for a crate but I don't want to leave them free with my other two. So....I usually crate him/her. Anyone have any suggestions about the best way to do this? I'm wondering if I should leave the crate in the family room where Jake and Shelby are or should I put the crate in my bedroom.

Jitterbug slept just great in his crate last night in our bedroom. I haven't yet had to leave him but am sure I will need to leave the house at some point When I crate him...he barks...and it sends off the other two. I can't use an x-pen because he's a houdini and leaps right over it.

    Any suggestions?

Crate him in a separate room with radio or TV on, and put a dark sheet over the crate so that stimulus from outside is reduced. That calms most dogs. Not having the other dogs around will probably help on both sides.
